Awesome explainer! What would be a direction I could go if I wanted a slip for greenware that I would want to crackle? Should I stick to high shrinkage materials for that?

Yes. I have a PDF on Gohonde Spotting And that is basically a slip that is put on greenware and oftentimes depending on what's in it or how thick it is it'll crackle. Basically the slips are 70 kaolin/Neph sye 30 and you can vary the kaolin's he like growleg tile 6 ,Helmer etcetera

Great information.try to work with slip. Have you heard about Gai-Lo-Me- tuchi (蛙目土) Japanese potter Shinobu Hashimoto, use this simple clay slip and obtain very fine crackles. Try to find similar clay in US..but No luck. By the way, I did visited your studio many years ago. You may remember ...Ko-no-ha, Tentoku.

Yes, that is just a non-plastic slip. Depends on your clay and bisque or no bisque. What cone are you firing to?

Great video, but so many adds I can’t follow easily. 2 adds for every break x 7 breaks = 14 adds in 1/2 hour. Come on KZbin/Google, that’s a bit excessive.
