You took so much time and trouble to prepare this class; Mr Britt. I cannot thank you enough. This is such good information. Even if you keep to the recipe approach, it helps you understand glazes better, and may to correct a recipe-based glaze if it doesn't work as expected. Thank you very much indeed.

I was slowly getting much more confused. However you did the best you could not knowing what kind of back ground the majority of your viewers had. Chemistry is difficult for a lot of people. I had it in high school and can not remember anything. I didn't flunk or I would be horrified. I believe it is just a matter of going over and over and listening to your examples to identify how and why certain glazes don't work. The variables that are left for the imagination is the key to issues. I guess the groups provide much more help when it comes to picture, and information that is key to a great result. Thank you for trying and I will continue on because I believe a summary is coming up and it will or could be pulled together for those of us not Left Brained.

John, I wish I had you in college before taking any chemistry. Chemistry made little sense to me, but all of your explanations are fascinating and make good sense! You rock!!!

Man, awesome. Can Stull Diagrams be used for making clay bodies also? I've been trying to make a good castable fireclay body for crucibles and such but porosity is a problem for melting some things.I add sand and felspar to make it go away. Looks like Stull can help with the tuning, maybe. Anyway, you rock, thank you.

@waynoswaynos think so instead of fluxes in unity you make alumina in unity. But zi usually just look at bodies and see what I am after and mimic it. In bodies..it is Clsy/flux/filler...not flux /refractory/ glass-former. I have a clay body video in the FREE ONLINE GLAZE COURSE

Hello! John Brit, could you help? 👀 I thank you very much if anyone can consult. I don't know why in the black or red ceramic paste (which I have high temperature), my faldespatico base enamels do not cover this clay. The enamels come out with bubbles.., although in white clay they work well for me. I understand that black clays contain ox iron and manganese. P.S sorry for writing in the comments
