Could you have also written about the mistral winds and Grenache doing well when trained low as a bush vine in Southern Rhône, as part of the theory question?
@WineWithJimmy Жыл бұрын
Hi Kym, I wouldn't have put this as one of my top three reasons, because the way that the vine is trained isn't an inherent quality of the variety that makes it well suited to the Southern Rhone. The training choice is a human intervention in response to the challenging conditions in the region, not a trait of Grenache itself, if you see what I mean!

Why do you say there's no need to remember Rasteau? Might that be a matter of taste? ;-)

Ha! No, not at all - in terms of the syllabus for L3.

What do the galets have to do with grenache being a good grape to grow in the southern Rhone? That has to do with the environment not any factor of the grape...
@WineWithJimmy Жыл бұрын
Hi Andrew, the reason the galet stones are more important for Grenache than other grape varieties is because Grenache needs more heat to ripen than the other grape varieties. This is why The galets of the southern Rhone, combined with low trained vines make grenache so good here.
