Mine is an older model with a digital display but did the first two. And shut off the said 888 and now zero "working" as normal.

We have just installed the k5co but no green light is flashing. Does that mean there is an issue with unit

When I press the test/reset button, the green LED comes on and it will beep to say CO is detected but then after a while the green light goes off. Does this mean it's still detecting CO or not?

This happend to me aswell. Like the green led is on while the red led is beeping 4 times at a time. Did this happen for you too?

I believe when you press it for a test and it lights up and you hear the alarm for a brief moment it is showing you the alarm is working and what it will sound and look like if it will detect carbon monoxide. It will beep and alarm itself if it detects carbon monoxide regardless if you press it or not

Just bought 2 of these and both emit a constant beep as soon as I put the last battery in. Apparently both are malfunctioning it seems which is an encouraging start then..

I know this comment is old but did you ever get a working one? I just got one and I have the same issue, I put the last battery in and immediately deafened with the loud, long beep

I have the exact same alarm and we think ours just went off, we heard 3-4 beeps but nothing has gone off since and its been a couple hours so does that mean we definitely have carbon monoxide as in the manual it says it should be a continuous alarm noise every 5 seconds but ours was a just a one off, so what does this mean?

If the alarm made the 4 loud beeps it means it would have detected CO. You are right though that the sound would continue so long as CO is present. It would make the same sound when the test button was pressed. Could it have been a child or someone pressed the button. My youngest daughter did the same recently with this alarm and I rushed into the room thinking it was CO. Are you able to press the test button to check the alarm is still working? I would recommend calling the manufacturer first thing in the morning. The Kidde customer support number is 0800 917 0722.
