This was a great beginners kit for a great price. kzbin.infoUgkxKRURvLsu9Vvyw7gIuvt8FsApoQNCdz-1 Its given us a huge variety to test out and see what works well and what we like to use. Majority of the flies have stayed together well, but some of the rainbow warriors did unravel after catching a few blue gill. All in all, this was a great kit and are so happy with the purchase and value for money.

You can get a sinking leader to add on the end of the dry line then normal line leader. This will save you putting a whole sinking line on.

I've been a saltwater flyfisher for 13 years and I will be fishing for trout in freshwater streams in 4 weeks. So do you just pick whatever fly you like or does situation dictate where you throw a dry or wet?

i have a question how do you know whats on the river ill look at the rive for half an hour and i see notting great video as well
@MattC062110 жыл бұрын
If you are fishing moving water like a river or stream, you might be making a cast every few seconds. In my opinion, the floatant is less optional than he seems to imply. Granted, you will shake some water off when you back cast, but its good practice, and can't hurt, got get into the habit of putting float on every time.

you can just dry it after it starts sinking but its a lot easier to ad a spray on waterproof or something along the line

drying a fly after every cast is going to get very time consuming and annoying, i personally would recomend the floatant and desecant. i use both. It really helps to keep a fly the fish keep hitting in the game longer instead of having to switch flys beacuse your fly no longer floats, hope this helps!! well its been a year hope you figured it out by now

When the trout reject your best ties..try this trick...Tie on a stick about 1.5" in length and let it hit with a splat several feet in front of the fish...You will be surprised how many times the fish will grab it!

try putting the split shot on above the tippet knot. you won't have to crimp it down so tight because the knot will keep it from sliding down to the fly.

Natural insects don't always Float ... sometimes they Sink ... So if your Tied Floating Fly sinks ... isn't it just reflecting Nature ?
@SuperOlds884 жыл бұрын
To get a fly to sink I would rather use a fly that is sparsely tied and tie or purchase flies that are weighted. To each his own, have a nice day.

Why is your example of a fly which floats a bug at the bottom of a small vile of clear liquid? that seems to be the opposite of floating.
