excellent video! My replacement pump didn't come with the allen plug, so I had to rob the plug from my broken pump. Messed around with it for a long time until this confirmed what I needed to do. Thanks!

@olddave48334 жыл бұрын
you do it that way(11:41) and your tank will rust out from the inside bottom as all the sludge and moisture will land there, best to draw oil from the bottom with the tank tilted towards to outlet pipe and don't let the garbage build up on the bottom. why have 6 inches of fuel laying in the botton, burn it all. very good video on the tiger loop. operation

Video 11 years ago. Question why would my oil pump keep seizing when I get an oil delivery? Quarter of a tank left before delivery,Roth oil tank installed some years back, problems before getting tiger loop and now this. Thank you

Great info! I changed a bottom valve once and I remember it had a stub 3/8" copper on it sticking up about 4". I think it did? It was years ago. I switched it to top feed with new tank. Have you seen that?
@dave48547 жыл бұрын
personally, I like the line that feeds the pump on the bottom with the tank tilted towards the pump so any water or sludge will be washed out of the tank to the filter canister all the time.. filters are not that expensive and doesn't take long to change.. tanks rust from the inside out and all the sludge and water laying in the bottom just shortens the life of the tank which are going up in price every yr.

Does the tiger loop have to be placed above the oil burner and above the actual boiler obviously if it’s purging air it has to be above being any out
@patcupolo92746 жыл бұрын
Your good, question, were tiger loops invented by a service man because of all the problems of hanging GE boilers with becketts, from buried tanks in Levittown , Long Island, NY, . These were enough to make you pull your hair out, sludge pots supreme! Your good and concise, easy to grasp, needed you 35 years ago.

Good video, If I use the tiger loop where would I put my oil filter in conjunction with the TL?
@patcupolo92745 жыл бұрын
Off the bottom of the oil tank with a tiger loop ever saw it in 35 years in the field, good way to get extra money from the cust. , but what happens if the line off the bottom gets plugged with sludge, as you mentioned, tiger loop of no use. Just pipe off top, as you mentioned, with tiger loop, no air, no sludge and clean filters.. filter on bottom of tank might help pluggedlines, but not a plugged tank valve, which does happen.

Great video, I install a lot of aboveground tanks. I’ve had a lot of customers complain about the “dripping” sound using a two pipe system with indoor tanks. Tiger Loops are effective but expensive, most aboveground tanks should not have air problems. Sludge takes a long time to build up in the bottom of a tank, if sludge becomes an issue it ma usually an indicator to replace your tank. ( most older tanks were designed for 30 years while newer tanks are designed for 10 years) What do you think? What’s the most cost efficient install: 2 pipe out of top, single pipe out of top with tiger loop or single pipe out of bottom?

Hi Lou thanks for all that info, Just one question if you can explain further, if the Tiger loop gets installed before the filter of Pump or after filter? Can you please clear that for me, I would appreciate it very much, Thanks Neved

these items are the best thing to add to your system. only get the "ultra" version with the 10 micron spin on filter. you will only call your oil repair once a year after that. no more clogged tips. the best money saver..........

What happens if you have a little water in the tank bottom with the tiger loop
@piperjack53711 жыл бұрын
on the duplex supply line should be 2" from bottom and the return should be submerged in the oil so as not to siphon oil back. 6" of space from oil about 50 gal oil. other than that great video.

Hey Lou, Thanks for the video. However, I tried installing this Tigerloop S220 onto my oil furnace but are unsuccessful. I can't seem to draw any oil into the Tigerloop. 1. The By-Pass plug in inserted into the pump. 2. The Arc of copper wire is perfectly in accordance with the instruction. I am beginning to think that the Tigerloop I've purchased is defective since my oil furnace is working properly once I disconnect the Tigerloop and install original setup. Ron

You never want to run top feed off of the top of the tank, thairs a filters on the oil line for a reason to remove the sludge and stuff in the tank, all you're doing is breeding a tank full of sludge

Constructive advice. The lighting is horrible for video. When you hold up the burner pump to show inlet and outlet, they are not visible in the poor lighting; the viewers can see nothing. Same problem when you hold up the tiger-loop unit; the poor lighting does not allow the viewer to discern the details.
