I will never stop being amazed at just how much mileage a single motif can get when thrown into so many different styles, and instill a lot of memories into a few notes. Good on Toby. Video game music can be so much more powerful than any other industry, just because of one's experiences associated with that music. It can be just like smell unlocking memories, and all the emotions tied to them.

While game soundtracks are solid its bold and very easy to disagree to say that its more powerful, especially for your reason given. You can have experiences and memories linked to any song, you can have feelings linked to any song. An example I'd like to give is Beach Life-In-Death by Car Seat Headrest. The album its from, Twin Fantasy, is about a young gay relationship that quickly becomes codependent and harmful as the protagonist Will has an idealized version of his partner in his head that will never live up to reality and is impossible to achieve. This is honestly a terrible summary but thats the main gist Beach Life-In-Death is a 13 minute long song about the beginning of the relationship, feeling inhuman, existentialism, and many other things. The song can really emotionally resonate with many people in similar situations at the time or even bonds made over the song and album. Heavy theaming and lyrical songwriting is often times just not a thing achievable with video game soundtracks without being incredible out of place and ill fitting. Its just not fitting to call them superious

I would say the classic "They're in a better place now", but I honestly feel like it must be quite exhausting hearing it so often. No matter how many times that it's said, it unfortunately won't ever bring them back. Never will. I've lost family, friends, loved housepets, the list goes on. But something I have are those still close to me. I have one really close friend who I talk to almost daily. He's an absolute idiot, but we basically grew up as family together and I love him to death. I have another friend who I don't talk to as often as I'd like to, but me and him are also really close. We haven't known eachother for quite as long, but it's still a very noteworthy friendship. Do I still get sad or depressed over who and what I've lost? Yes, and I don't think that will ever leave me. But I have my friends to keep me grounded. I really hope that you can find something similar. My sincerest condolences.

had a similar thought about the synth. i also lost someone close. i lost my best friend last year in late July. one of his favorite songs was Hopes and Dreams, which its motif is heard throughout the game from the very start. i miss him, i know he'd love this high quality rip.

Sincerest condolences to you, my friend. I also lost a great friend from our circle stemming from our batchmates of our previous school, as he ended it all according to the I've heard from my best friend of the same circle of friends, all I could think about of that time I've learned the truth about his death was too many to count. As Mel said, the only thing we can do to for those that we've lost is to be there for those close to us and perhaps all that we still have.

It seems everybody in the comments are being hit by this at the same time and I gotta say that I'm joining y'all on this. Video game music will always be so powerful to us. It'll always make up feel things that we haven't felt in so long. It's truly a beautiful thing to experience. Some rips are dumb as hell, some are beautiful and inspiring like this. Silva was my inspiration to do all the dumb stuff i've made on my channel from the past few years and it's always been so fun to make. I never get bored of the same tunes because you always notice something different every single time you listen. It's a beautiful sound. I'll never forget Undertale. That game hit like a ton of bricks and has been the center of my life ever since it came out. Crazy how it'll be 8 years old this year. How the hell has time flown by so quick? I'm 20 this year, man. My childhood was full of game music. I've even pursued music as a possible career choice because I just want to let people feel the sort of stuff I feel when I listen to music. It's such a beautiful experience. I'm rambling. It's always what tends to happen when I go too into music. It's my biggest passion and I could talk for HOURS. Whoever is reading this..
