Well RPG stands for Role Playing Game. So by murdering/killing everyone you played "I kill everyone" role. Basicaly Undertale is dark alegory for IwantToKnowWhatHappenAndIamBored (Flowy) or GiveMyEXP (Chara?) players. I'm guilty of both is Sekiro, which also shows where greed for power may lead, althrough more subtly.

I know Undertale's flaws and the flaws of the fandom (which are actually flaws of the internet and society as a whole) better than those who love to spew it and yet never even played the game or know more than a tip of the fan base. And yet, despite knowing these flaws (maybe even because I know them) I can still gain the benefits and full pleasure of both the game and the fandom. As an anime fan, I'm well aware of how _no_ fandom of any significant size will ever be totally rid of disgusting fans. I actually became interested in Undertale _because_ of the fandom. I've never seen a larger compilation of amazingly talented fanmade animations. A music-video animation brought me here. It was really cool to see so many fans share their talent so willingly. Yeah, there's a lot of garbage, but that's with any large fandom.

I fell in love with undertale actually thanks to dan and phil. I got interested in playing the game myself. Then my friend, who was also interested in the game, showed me fan animations and others which eventually got me more and more interested until I actually got the game and played it myself. I honestly really like it and appreciate what the fandom does with the game....but I agree that no matter what, no fandom will be without disgusting fans. It truly disgusts me that fans who basically hate on people who dont like the game exist. What happened to freedom of speech? Who cares if people dont like the game? They have their own preferences! The reason there are people complaining about the fandom is because they've never looked at an Internet fandom before and they are surprised with the contrast between the game's charming atmosphere and the NSFW art. This phenomenon is not surprising considering that the Undertale game is so popular and is designed in such a way that the player (or even someone who watches other people play) retains memory of the charming experience. Not many games leave people with this much nostalgia and interest to learn more about them, which is why there are so many popular theories that try to fill up the unanswered questions about Undertale's lore. Just because it happens in every fandom doesn't mean we can't complain about it. That's like saying "Oh the government in our country is corrupt but it's corrupt in every country it's fine" (I know, not the perfect analogy but it's the first thing that came to my mind XD) I wish the "porn community" would have a place of their own, like if they would all just post it to Furaffinity.net that'd be great but the way it is now, you go look up fan pages on Facebook or fan art on Deviantart and that's all you see. It's frustrating. And this is definitely not the first time I encounter rule 34, I've been on the internet for a looong time, but like you said - this game is so innocent and charming that when people immediately turn it into something lewd, it's gross.

In my comment, I suggested a rationale about the cause for which these complaints are happening and the intensity by which they are voiced. I didn't suggest the complainers to stop, but it might seem to be implied, which was not my intention. Seeing those reactions about the porn is actually quite interesting and worthy of examination. ;) As for rule 34, I agree. From Undertale to Undertail, the change is quite big, even for someone who's had decent exposure to rule 34. Just imagine if someone's first time with rule 34 is from Undertale. o.o! And to think that this is shown on Facebook is incredible. On Deviantart, I know why. Rules there are not very strict, but Facebook should be more restrictive than Deviantart on art work, though.

Also, judging by the fact that Toby has been working on Undertale for some time, I doubt that there will be like 47 sequels like FNAF. This game seems to get such a bashing nowadays, and for so many reasons, a lot of which are stupid. Most, if not everything popular has a fandom, and most fandoms have their bad sides. But they also have a good side to them. If you look in the right places, you can find people in the fandom who won't chew you out for killing goat-mum. The game itself is quite incredible in my opinion, with an amazing soundtrack and characters who are thought out quite well (or at least, I think so). The graphics felt nostalgic, and the idea that slaughtering everything would be a different experience to showing mercy, no matter the obstacle. I though the super secret hidden encounter, So Sorry, was cute. Some people don't seem to like him because of his origins, but the creator donated $1000 to help make Undertale, and in turn Toby said they could put any character they wanted into the game. They both would've known what would happen so they made the requirements to encounter So Sorry be rather ridiculous. (there's probably more to it but that is the basics). The whole GameFAQ's situation is ridiculous because in reality it's just a popularity contest. So the fandom on Tumblr rallied together, big woop. The game hasn't withstood the test of time to be called the best game ever in my eyes. Give me flak for that if you want, thats my opinion. It's a fun game. The graphics may be dated, but the gameplay is great. I'd recommend it if you can avoid the darker side if the fandom (unless you are in to that) but of course, who am I but another fan.
