Guess I’m one of those people you should be hating (to an extent) lol I initially wanted to play it around 2017 but several friends from different friend groups were breathing down my neck about how I’m playing the game wrong and how I should feel bad and just restart or not play it. I just dropped it. I just recently finished it this year though. My girlfriend urged me to play and swore she won’t judge however I played it. Only thing I knew was “Sans is a superboss with 1HP” (when I said this info to those “friends” a few years ago, they called me a monster). Ended up playing a full pacifist run to mock those same “friends” and I had no idea it was a valid way to play. Game is beautiful, an experience everyone should try once!

I’m a new Undertale fan but I used to be one of those people who jumped on the Undertale hate bandwagon due to “cringe fans” despite knowing nothing else about the game and it making me kind of a hypocrite cause I loved Eddsworld at the time (still do) and that fandom has its own problems some even similar to Undertale. However later in 2021 i had a crush on this guy who loved Undertale and this was when Deltarune chapter 2 was released so he was asking me to play it. I did on a free weekend not really having any expectations…”I loved the game” is an understatement, that completely shocked me since this was made by the same guy who did Undertale, me and my crush would talk about Deltarune all the time and later I finally decided to buy Undertale as he watched me play for the first time telling me how much I was gonna love this game especially since I already love Deltarune and he was completely right. However that just made me feel terrible because I then interacted with other Undertale fans like him and they’re super nice and talented people that years ago I was shiting on for no reason. I wish it didn’t take me being a simp to realize how much of a Masterpiece this game is. I also hope everyone that used to be like me gives the game at least one chance.

As the wiki states. Chara fell down because they hated humanity. They had been suffering on the durface, which is something that seems to be true, in some different texts throughout the game. Modt notably for me is the fact that the tools for the fire is worn down so no one can stab themselves. Narration is done by Chara themselves, so the fact that the house of Chara (Asgores home) has tools that are worn down as to not let anyone harm themselves, might indicate that Chara might’ve done some form of self harm. Another fun fact is that Chara laughs when they’re stressed. This is apparent in the snowy amalgamate fight where Chara asks frisk if they didn’t laugh. (Because they laughed so lich it hurt due to stress) another example is of course in the video where they laugh off the fact that Asgore fell really ill due to their actions. I advice you read a bit more about it on the wiki as well!!! Something else to note that isn’t written in the wiki was, that Chara was likely abusive, emotionally, and manipulative. They made Asriel do things they didn’t like, called them names, as well as did a lot of different forms of manipulation tactics. This is also shown in how Flowey needs Chara, and wants Chara, even though Chara was a bad person to Asriel. Asriel wears green yellow green. My best guess is at some point Chara changed their clothing to match Asriel's due to their friendship. Chara was originally wearing yellow green yellow but after spending time with Asriel and also probably not wanting connections to their time with humanity, they changed their clothes to match Asriel's... and then I realise Asriel's shirt in the flashback is light dark light which compeltely ruins this theory... unless Asriel used to also wear a completely different shirt...

i still wondering about chara is Evil or not. i thought chara was The evil in Genocide root but ... I think i need to rethink it.

She’s not. She just follows along with Genocide. The Player is the Villain if they decide to go and do the Genocide Run. People say Chara and Frisk are evil because of one major flaw people have. Human Arrogance. You killed so many Monsters that you could’ve made friends with. You don’t want to have the consequences, so you blame it on someone else. Also Chara was taken great care by the Dreemurrs, when the Humans treated her (I see both Frisk and Chara as female.) like a freak because of her red eyes. With the Dreemuurs, Chara wasn’t treated like a freak, a monster, or trash. Asriel became her sibling as well. Why would Chara want to murder them? She loved them and wanted to save them too.

@@georgeshaw4017 i actually think chara wakes up during any playthrough and simply doesnt take over if she sees we arent evil. She may be a mischievous kid who likes to get her way, but she doesnt initially have evil intentions (she wants to get human souls to open the barrier for monsters). Other peoples theories made me believe chara was burried under the leafless tree in the ruins where nothing grows, but theres more evidence for the grave to be the flower bed at the start, and even if it was the tree its simply autumn and its lost its leaves and is normally green.

That chara is actually me but in the timeline war between humans and monsters happened so thats why

"I should have laughed it off like you did" "That creepy smile" And at the end of the pacifist route: "Chara wasn't the greatest person, always hated humanity" Chara was always a little... err... evil this whole time. Maybe he jumped off to kill himself because he was sick of life, but didn't die.

Chara "laughing off" the situation was just them being anxious actually. Some people laugh when anxious, like Toriel when we kill her. It's made clear in the new lab where the narrator (Chara) states that they laugh despite not finding the situation funny.

Their hatred of humanity came from all the abuse that humans put them trough, no wonder they wanted to die after being hated their whole life :(. And the "not being the greatest person" literally means they weren't the greatest, not that they were bad. Asriel actually thought Chara was the greatest, but has now realize that they were not, because they made mistakes, like everyone

Maybe not evil, but definitely a little manipulative. Chara did talk Asriel into the plan that led to his death. A plan that would force a literal child (Asriel) to commit murder. Also, its insinuated that Chara poked fun at Asriel for crying.

How did you managed to get the true pacifist ending with LV 3? you must have LV 1 to achieve it, if your LV is greater than 1 means you killed something and you can only get a neutral ending. Or is Asriel's always told?

That's true, you can't (not legit at least). The footage is from separate runs. The tape recordings and the pictures where Asriel gets Chara up, are from a pacifist run and everything else from a neutral.

Sup. See the recordings on 03:31 and all those stuff? In my version, for some reason, instead of saying Chara, it said the name I had chosen (Chaos). Is that on purpose?

Howdy! This is on purpose. Their "true name" is Chara, but their name will vary on what you name them. At the start of the game, instead of naming the eight fallen human, who you play as, you name the first fallen human.
