Underwater COHO Bites: Jeff Head and Meadow Point KAYAK FISHING

Headed out to Jeff Head (Point Jefferson) for one last coho trip. This is one of the more revered salmon spots in the greater Seattle area. Though generally reserved for boats due to the rough conditions, I sometimes make my way out there on my kayak.
This time I really wanted to find some bait balls and drop my camera through them to catch the action. BUT MY FISHFINDER STOPPED WORKING THAT MORNING! It worked the day before... Between the broken fish finder, rougher than expected weather, tangles, and losing a fish to a broken snap, I had a pretty tough start to the day.
I did the best I could keying in on bait by looking for birds and other signs of life, and as you can see from the footage I didn't do too badly. I probably filmed over 100 salmon, hooked 3, caught 2.

8'3" Ugly Stik downrigger rod
200 series Diawa saltist
Not sure what the flasher is called but it's purple, spins, and looks vaguely like a fish
Bait was just beheaded herring. I'd definitely recommend getting herring helmets based on my experience this day. I could not get the spin right. My bait kept getting marred from going to fast or the currents.
The music is "According to Plan" from CyberLink Power Director's background music. I chose this because that day almost nothing did LOL

Hi, this is Patrick, I am a subscriber and wanted to let you know I really like your videos. The one thing that can be challenging is hearing you properly, but not sure how that can be fixed with the wind noise. As a suggestion, throwing in maps once in a while may be helpful, as well as more detail on gear/lures used. I also had a question: What are the pants you are wearing when kayaking?

Cool underwater footage. I've often seen fish follow my spoons up to the surface like that, but to get that coho on the surface is pretty awesome. What underwater camera are you using?

I would like to know how you have your downrigger setup? Good note on tight herring spin. I've heard that before too.
