Underwater Look of Sliding Egg Sinker Fishing Rig versus Knocker Fishing Rig

KNOCKER RIG is a egg weight that slides to the hook. its a good live bait rig or for heavy current. no twist or tangles and you slack your line once on bottom and your bait swims with just the weight of the hook. sliding rig is a carolina rig.

If you use braid as your main line with the carolina rig(sliding sinker), the sinker always gets twisted up at the swivel when your fishing deeper water. If you tie at least 5-6' of flouro or mono above the swivel and do a line to line knot(albright knot works well for braid to mono) it mostly eliminates those tangles 🤙

Or just let it down slower too. And straighten it out when its on bottom by pulling up a few times. Especially when using extra long leaders (10-13ft) this should be done anyway.

I love carolina rig alot for bass fishing. Im new to salt water fishing. Your definitely right it mostly tangles up. I might try your tip see how it goes. If not im just gona use knocker rig and high low rig for salt water.

I will use a sliding sinker rig in current or when I am drifting. The movement keeps the bait off of the line and gives a clean presentation. Anchored up with light current, I will use a dropper loop. I only use a knocker rig when delivering a big bait like a bluerunner.

Im confused now, isnt it thats a caronlina rig or fish finder rig?(mainline-weight-bead-swivel-leader- hook) I like using it alot in fresh water for bass fishing but it tangles alot whenever i fish for salt water. Do you have any tips to prevent that? I use knocker rig (main line-leader-weight-hook) and chicken rig or high low or pompano rig alot nowadays for saltwater fishing.

Yeah different areas might call it something else. It seems like letting it down a little slower keeps it from tangling. Also make sure your bait is hooked so it doesn't spin going down.

You guys appear seriously confused. A knocker rig is NOT the same as a chicken rig. Knocker rig is a sliding sinker and hook only. Chicken rig is usually 2 (or more) hooks with a sinker at the bottom of the rig.
