The Underwood devil scared me as a child. My parents used to keep tins of it in the pantry but as far as I know, we never consumed it. Maybe Mom did, in secret.

Mason Reese networth is 1.5 million. A lot more than I have but it's not really that much considering all the years he has been a actor. But I am sure the next 20 years he will have a comfortable old age compared to a lot of us.

I think it was implied that he was a mischievous kid who liked seeing his parents having a hard time, in this case, finding affordable food. He could also have wanted fancy meats on his sandwiches (roast beef, steak, etc.), and was pissed about the fact that his mom found something cheaper.

Recently I remembered this product, and wondered why they didn't have TV commercials for it anymore. Is the product still around? Are fewer people buying it, so there's no money for ads? I don't think I ever ate it.

If you've been in the military, they ate canned spam, ham, etcetera and MRE's (meals ready to eat). They acquire a taste for them. Most of these canned meat contained a lot of SALT. Men/boys crave salt. My Dad (World War II) and my husband (Korean and Vietnam. Vet) still eat canned meat but mostly as a snack in between meals. Me, no. Not crazy about a lot of Salt). I remember these commercials, but still think Mason Reese looks like a weirdo. Sorry Mason.

That had to be a Carter-era commercial, when the prices at the grocery store were going up so quickly that everyone was upset about food prices and worried how they’d keep eating. (Not that the economy was great during Nixon or Ford, either. The 1970s sucked.)

4 sandwiches from that little can? I'm eating one right now. Mixed it with mayo and relish, topped with a slice of cheese. A little bit salty but not too bad. I think you can get maybe 2 and a half sandwiches from the can. To get 4 you would have to spread it on really thin.
