I remember the largey riots as a kid there. Tear gas and billy clubs were flying everywhere. Not like today🤤. The city leaders used to shite all over that area because it had very little political representation. I also remember talking with the head of the probation department Gil sakatini(?) saying the neighborhood around the towers had the one of the highest percentage of people in jail per population. It seemed Every family had a member in jail. Some had a few😀 Btw, East Cambridge was considered after the tracks. After that it was the Donnelly field neighborhood. Good work.

I lived in Boston, Brighton, Allston, Brookline…from 2001 - 2008…(lived in Easton/Brockton from 97-01)…& I was involved in the tiny hip-hop scene in Boston back then. I remember Slaine hustling mix-tapes on Boylston…& I was pretty close homies with both Flash & V-Knuckles from NBS…(also from Cambridge). My roommate was a pretty well known club promoter/DJ for 6one7 Productions…& those guys would come over to our apartment & blaze all kinds of 🌲s. And I remember Millyz hustling even back then. He would do shows/songs/videos with Roc Dukati & Usual Suspecktz all the time back then. See…so many of this online army of Millyz hatin, keyboard warriors…just don’t understand that Millyz has been out there hustling since long before they were even a gleam in their daddy’s eye😂😂😂.

Great and very informative as usual. Been living in Central Square almost 20 years now. I’ve seen my fair share of Griminess. Witnessed a drive by while playing softball at Donnelly Field in East Cambridge. (About 7 years ago now.) Highly doubt they hit there intended target, but did manage to hit a young girl instead. A friend applied a tourniquet to her leg while waiting for the police and ambulance to show. To my knowledge, it never made the news.

Would like to see a part 2 expanding on the secrets of the city such as the amount of murders that have gone unsolved or the dismemberment of a body which was discovered in a bag in Kendall square. Why are these types of crimes kept so quiet.

There was a Harvard Sq based bike gang in the late 60s, The Deacons. Probably 20 guys and 6 or 8 motorcycles. Most would arrive in the Square by Bus or Subway. They did buy an old Armored Car to haul the pedestrian members around. I'm born and raised in Cambridge, and graduated from Syringe and Latin 1966.

The history of the Towers beef with the police is real .Thanks for recognizing class battles throughout. There was docudrama about another tough project in 70s , Jefferson Park. It was called “Billy and the Lowlands” about a group of poor white kids from NC. It aired on PBS ch 2. Shout out to G Unit. You will get hit on some of the facts and history but the tale of two cities is real. Things like technical education and even football get swallowed up by the liberal establishment. Good thing CRLS hoop and Pat Ewing were too big to fail!

@johnprinty6939 24 күн бұрын
Joyner hasn’t dropped not much of anything in the last few months outside of Tantrum with Will Smith, but I don’t think that makes Millyz more successful. They’re in different positions. Millyz went on Joyner’s tour to open up for him. I think that tells you what you need to know. I love Millyz and he’s by far my preference. I own all his albums and listen to him and a few others daily (Payroll Giovanni, Benny, and Peezy) but as far as success they’re in different leagues. Millyz drops like he does to stay hot while Joyner can take his time and drop when he wants to. I don’t have the streaming or tour/merch sales data but it seems obvious that Joyner has had much more success than Millyz. I’m just glad they’re on good terms and setting the egos to the side after uncle Mark got them on the same page that Mass is better and bigger together and to start celebrating each other’s wins

You may be right. I guess it’s just hard for me to believe it. Joyner is like more of a household name whereas Millyz is more underground. He has a good family and does alot for the city and helps people but he isn't telling his story he embellished alot on his albums. Not hating cause he's family and he's a success story and shows it can be done but let's not give him more than what's due. Millyz has lived what he speaks on and has the people to back his story and rise to where he's came from to where he's at. Mass has alot of good artists Guru from gang Starr , Slaine, statik Selektah, Mr. Lif, 7L & Esoteric, Crumb Snatcher and many more. Millyz flow and lyricism is on another level not seen in years

Harvard owns SO much of the town , its rediculous . I've worked on half of the roofs in Cambridge (small exaguration , obviously) . Ive done a LOT of the slate roofs in Harvard and M.I.T on a sub contracted roof/maintenance crew . The bird's eye view I got of $hit is retahded 😆 People think they're slick , no idea you got roofers up there just rippin butts and keeping quiet . Good history , and good shit as usual big guy 💪

In fact after a police issue in JP in 2000 the police would not go in. I was Mayor and we got whytee a beloved cop to work with me to go in and city manager Healy gave us free reign on temp jobs to give out and break the ice. We did. You will get hit on some of the facts and history but the tale of two cities is real. Things like technical education and even football get swallowed up by the liberal establishment. Good thing CRLS hoop and Pat Ewing were too big to fail despite playing when CRLS was closed for two weeks after the killing of Anthony Colasimo in school. The class and race history is real and should not be forgotten.
