Not all his fault. Coaching matters. Mid season the defense fell apart. No one seems to talk about the fact the lions punted once in their game. They finally pointed out how woeful the blocking is. You can give him prime Jerry moss and Megatron and idc who your qb is, this bears season was going to wash. Line couldn't stay healthy. Play designs were horrendous. Failed discipline in key situations and horrible game management from coaches. This not madden. So many errors across the board from head coach on down.

Russ was already named the starter in preseason and he’s a well established Super Bowl QB in the NFL for multiple years, of course Tomlin and pretty much any coach would start him over a young QB like Fields, I’m sure even right now Russ would have started the season over Caleb if he was in Chicago. That being said Fields never had the full playbook open for him which is why we never really saw much of the passing game expanded beyond over 25 passes a game yet he still led them to 4-2. Just be fair in your critique, Justin has his flaws but don’t be unfair and say something disingenuous like he should be starting regardless over Russ even tho Tomlin made a promise to Russ in the preseason.

What stats? The 17 touchdowns and 11 picks? 10 of those touchdowns came in the 4th quarter, 9 of which when they were down by 9 or more points. He doesn't have picks because he has 67 sacks. I have no dog in the fight, I’m not a bears fan, and the same worries everyone had about Caleb pre draft I had them as well…but I don’t think any objective person can watch last night & believe Caleb has even a realistic shot at success. The offense is wr smoke screen, low percentage go route down the sideline, and caleb scramble to try and make a crazy play. There’s absolutely no structure, no route concepts being ran to take advantage of the defense, nothing. I mean eventually Seattle ran 0 blitz on him every high leverage down & they didn’t scheme up a hot route to take advantage of it 1 single time. It’s hard to criticize the interim HC because he was just supposed to be the qb coach so he’s understandably over his head, but that was a joke of an offense last night bruh

Feilds Was Way more Exciting to watch in CHI a better leader and was the clear QB1 there. Gayleb Williams Is Buns and Looking More Like a Bust every game. No signs or flashes of Any potential , with Justin at least you were going to See him Break a Run out of a Sac and go for 40 plus. Gayleb see's trouble And goes down faster than a 304. Yes, he was at up with pieces, a healthy, at the time, defense, and was yes, set up for success. That hail Mary game was the beginning of the end, but so was billings being hurt and losing brisker. That roster got them through bad coaching because the coach still made mistakes that their talent got them through. They had back ups to back ups these last few weeks on the lines . I'm not making excuses but the one thing that matters the most is the guys gave up on the team weeks ago and truthfully, although happy to have Thomas, they never really bought back in. Caleb got them back in games others were physically there for and that's it. I was a fields guy, honestly still am but Caleb is the real deal going through rookie growing pains on the second year of a REBUILD, everyone got way too optimistic and many real fans thought 7 or 8 games even though we went 7 and 10 last year. Next year is when we're supposed to really take our steps, and I believe they will. Beardown!

Did anyone watch him play in college? He's not the traditional, pure, drop back & analyze the field & read the defense qb. Caleb is a move around, roll out, scrambling qb. He makes his best plays & most accurate throws on the run. Any franchise that drafted him had to have known that. Until he gets more experienced, & seasoned as a qb this is what/who he is.
