Undoing my box braids and relaxing my hair after 5 months!!!!KAIZEN TSHEGO

In this video I show you how I undo my box braids which I have had in my hair for 2 months. My last relaxer was in August 2022 which was 5 months ago at this point in time so there was a lot of growth!!!!
After I had relaxed and trimmed my hair,I realised that I had achieved a new hair length goal which was mid back length and I was absolutely ecstatic about that! As much as my primary focus on the channel will always be healthy relaxed hair, achieving this and hair length is quite validating.
This year, my hair focus will be on sharing all my knowledge and experiences relating to growing healthy relaxed hair, especially because I have had 12 months to truly study and experiment with this new hair texture since relaxing after 12 years of being natural.
Although I do still believe that a huge component does come down to genetics, there are quite a few things one can do to ensure that they are maximising on their hair potential. I hope that you will find these insights and videos insightful and helpful.

I’m sure everyone is aware that relaxers destroy the natural hair structure but with the right routine and products you can manage the damage, making the hair “appear” healthy. My aunt has thick waist length relaxed hair and because it looks very healthy, people assume it’s a natural blowout or straightened.

1. Loooove the video 2. Per my own experience, everytime I relaxed my hair at the salon (different salons at a time), they messed it up... everytime. Straight from the application process to the styling at the end. But my mom does it perfectly right at home, so she's been doing it for me ever since, and my hair's been thriving

I’ve done the Brazilian blowout before and what’s awesome is that the curl is retained, so after a wash it’ll go back to afro but with a looser curl pattern. The con was that it made my hair scalp extremely flakey. I’ve been looking for places that offer texture releases that aren’t the Brazilian blowout and aren’t a relaxer because I REALLY want to wear my hair straight. I’ll check this salon out 🤞🏽🙏🏽 love how healthy your hair is, ausi!

It could be a number of things but the three that come to mind are: 1. Incorrect relaxer strength being used 2. Inconsistent use of the same relaxer brand and strength 3. Poor blowout and silk press technique
