Its all anyone needs for a touring motorcycle. Add your own GPS, pack your bags and hit the road! Radios and other gadgets are a dangerous distraction anyway. Actually I still use a roadmap and memorize my route as my mental compass first, in case the GPS wants to take me into No mans land like we all have experienced!

I bought one last year and LOVE it. I've liked the Street Glide for a while, but really didn't want the radio and all the other stuff so this one really suited me. Never owned a touring bike before either but this thing has rapidly become my favorite. I own a 2012 softail and a 72 FLH but this one gets ridden most of the time. Thanks for all the great videos. Always look forward to seeing them. Good job.

Agree with Mr. Palladino. This is by far the best value in the Harley stable. The Electra Glide Standard has 111 ft. pounds of torque at 3250 RPM which is a lot; as expected with an engine working at low RPMs the horsepower is very low at 68.7 HP. This is one of the H-D models that really competes in all areas including VALUE with Indian, BMW, Honda, Suzuki, Kawasaki and Yamaha.

Great bike to get and drop a 128 Stage four kit right from purchase, it will be covered by warranty. Then add accessories over time to customize it to your tastes. You will have one powerful drive train that will be covered under warranty. Then take out the extended service plan to cover after the two year warranty. All you going to be paying is for oil changes and tires.

I have a ‘19 standard and I’m glad I went with it. With a nice discount it was cheaper than a used SGS that brought me to the dealer in the first place. Softail money really. Brand new “take off” 2-up seats all day for $100 or less. I’m going to install an amp and speakers with a Bluetooth controller in the dash in the coming weeks. Use my phone for music, navigation, etc. no need for a stereo head unit. All the Harley stock shocks are garbage anyway so that will be a worthwhile upgrade.

I bought my '19 Electra Glide Standard the last day of August '19, put break in miles on real quick and rode it to Texas in early Oct; I now have near 4400 miles on and it had to sit through the northern IL winter. Love this bike; none of the extra 'stuff' that I didn't want; was wanting a touring bike since I was putting 10,000 miles per year on my Softail Slim ('13 with 55,000 miles when I traded in). Great touring bike at a great price!

Food for thought for anyone thinking about getting one.....it has the speaker pods in the fairing and is wired for a stereo. Fat head cycles offers a plug n play system that basically plugs in without cutting any wires and compromising the warranty. With a metra kit you can install any double din stereo with ease. The handlebar controls harnesses also are ready for the volume/function controls if you buy the controls for around $250 ( but need the modules). For the money you save vs a street glide you can customize this bike how you prefer and have fairly unique bike. Aside from the infotainment and bolt-on eye candy, it’s the same bike with an inch more meat on the front tire which is in my opinion, a plus. The old standard models had gray engine cases which would be a gross waste of money to change but looked “cheap”. They use the black cases on these which really put on the same level as the other touring bikes.
@lafitethepirate4 жыл бұрын
The stock Boom Box GTS radio is useless. It can’t be heard at high way speeds and at high volume it distorts terribly. So if you want to listen to the radio you’re going to be spending money on upgrading speakers and adding an amp. Probably better off without it and adding your own radio as you mentioned. The only thing you’d really miss is the built in GPSr. But it would still be cheaper to add an aftermarket GPSr and wire it up. Definitely a way to save some $$. Wish I had known this before buying a Street Glide Special. Of course the radio sounded nice on the showroom. Not so much at 70mph. Thanks for the video review.

I’m 32 and if I was to buy a brand new bagger this would be it. It is stripped down so I can add what I want. It is basically a blank canvas for customization if you want. If you don’t want to customize it then it is a no frills bagger.

I have one that is stock and I love it. The big apes look good on a sportster or a dyna but on a heavy touring bike the stock bars are actually better and I'm 6'0". I like the CVO streetglide but this is a more practical option for most people.

back in 2015 i test rode a Street Glide and Dyna low, both were really nice but that Street Glide was something else with all the extras on it wow. Stereo was on point, shark nose fairing was great keeping wind off me and the handling was good because its not longer wheelbase. I liked the style on the Dyna Low though, the one i rode was a dark green with black and chrome accents. After all that i rode my Kymco 250 cruiser back home and went with a new leftover 2014 Yamaha Stryker about a couple months later, still got it B)

At first I was excited to see them bring back the ElectraGlide standard, but why the stiff rear shocks? Are they cheaper than the standard shocks? Maybe better to get a Road King-comes with longer rear shocks, rear pegs, two up seat, rear crash bars, more chrome detailing on fenders, etc. and add an aftermarket fairing if needed? To each his own, I guess. Thanks for the test rides-help fill these stay at home days.
@IamJunius4 жыл бұрын
It isn't for cost, it is a styling choice. The ride is stiff because the bike is lowered compared to an Ultra, which provides for less travel in the shock. I believe it comes to about 1/2" less available travel, but hey - it looks good!

I had been riding since I was 14 and realized when I took the course how much I didn't know. I used to ride a metric cruiser and wasn't until I looked at the specs that while havening half the engine it was l longer and wider and lower than my Heritage that I ride now. The difference in weight is the radio and speakers. Try putting 40 psi in the front tire instead of the recommended 36psi. That make steering much easier and prevents that feeling of the tire wanting to flop to full lock when turning at low speeds.

I know this is a popular look, but I loosened the two lower bolts on the riser clamp and moved them backward. I wish HD would make a Road Glide Standard even if it’s $1000 more! But I am a fan of this anyway and am considering buying one. I do also like the Road King and it’s basically the same price. Both have their pros and cons. The question is, would you do the Stage IV conversion or should you have just bought the Street Glide at that point?

Hi, Anyway you can share with us your build spec for your 2020 Police bike? I'd like to buy one as you have specked and purchased. Thank you.

I simply ordered the standard police bike in impact blue. www.harley-davidson.com/us/en/motorcycles/police-fire-shrine/police.html If your dealer doesn't have one in stock, you may have to weight between 3 and 6 months from the day he gets a police bike in, before he can sell it to you.

Hey Jerry - are you able to let me know what radio, face plate this bike has? I have the same bike and would be interested to know the set up. Thanks for your awesome videos!

I don't know but do a google search on radios for 2019 Electra Glide standard.

I know it’s not a Harley , but what are your thoughts on a Honda fury , I just bought one last yr a 2012 blue in color with cobra slip ons & mustang seats
@motorman8574 жыл бұрын
Personally, I wouldn't own any chopper type motorcycle. Their handling and maneuverability are just awful. The good thing about the Fury as compared to Big Dog choppers and the like, is that they are reliable.

Ride Like a Pro Jerry Palladino Ok thanks for the ur response it’s my first cruiser , I’ve had a Cbr 600rr 2005 since 06 so the fury rides like a caddy compared to the cbr lol

I'm dissatisfied with this video. How do I get my money back? Hopefully it will be enough to buy this bike!! I was thinking the past few days on why the ultra is $10k more when you can add a radio and luggage to this one. Stay safe!!!!

Are you changing the Low Rider S handle bars?

Enjoyed the video. I have a 2019 FLHT ABS myself with aftermarket hammock seat, rider backrest, and chopped tour pack. It is a sweet day tourer at under 800 lbs and as you say handles great with good power from that 107. Check out the video on my channel if interested.
