Lets name them all, shall we?! - Cheap shot at the start for a surprise attack. - Killing your invincibility frames via karmic retribution. - Attacking even tho its your turn via outside of the battle zone. - Teleportation mid-battle to mesmerize you. - Another cheap shot at spare kill, just like what WE can do ourselves. and - Trying to stall you by not ending his own turn, just to abuse the system.

I really like how this 'impossible difficulty' fight remake not only made great use of its own engine, resulting in smoother graphics and non-linear attacks, but I also respect how this fight didn't go down the route that most other custom fights do in order to boost their difficulty, that being to inexplicably have the character use Gaster Blasters & dodge every attack until the end of the fight, and although Undyne does dodge & use a comparable instantaneous beam attack of her own, it makes more sense to me, as she swings her spear to cause those attacks & only manages to dodge occasionally, which I find better than simply gutting the character in question, stuffing Sans into their boneless corpse, then slapping on a fancy gimmick that's only tangentially related to the seven colors of Soul, either through colored attacks or changing the Soul's properties along with its color.

That's not to belittle how hard and well he fought or how hard it was to get that hit in on him (the Player and then Chara have to break the rules of the game twice to do it), but he doesn't continue to fight at 0 HP. i love the attacks with the huge whirlwinding barrage of spears where only a few even have a chance of hitting the player, it really sells the idea that undyne is throwing absolutely everything she's got into this fight there's not much i can say about this that hasn't already been said but i really do love it, it's nice to see an 'impossible' mod or remake that's just a brutally difficult test of reflexes and precision without relying entirely on unfair trial-and-error attack spamming and general artless bullshit. my only critique would be that the yellow and green arrows are close enough in colour that it's hard to differentiate between them when so many are coming at once; i think a shade of green closer to the soul when it's locked in place would make it easier to tell the difference. other than that though it's a really good looking fight! i'm not in the mood for a frustratingly hard challenge at the moment but next time i am i'll have to keep this in mind >:O

With this fight, it’s not the actual attacks that kill you. Most are built on existing patterns and the arrow barrage is half fear factor. Practice will be hard but still really achievable. I think the real ‘impossible’ part is phase length. The real bane of the mod. It’s one thing to master dodging, but there is a sense of attrition having to hold out double the duration waiting for her attack to end. Edit: I commented this before I reached the point where reverse arrows are introduced. I retract my statement(s).

You are still correct though, it's a battle of endurance. Reverse arrows are still giving you a certain circle of space, just enough distance to spin your shields from any position towards them.

I kinda like it the way it is to be honest, i mean we get to see just why monsters feared and hated humans so damn much, because of what humans are capable of doing to monsters if they want to. I mean one single child wiped out most of monsterkind. One. Single. Child. Yes frisk had the unfair advantage of saving and loading, but given the amount of monsters that died from a single hit TO A CHILD, it kinda makes you wonder what would happen if, instead of frisk, you had a fully armed and trained soldier. Undyne felt this difficult when I first faced her. And yes, I think Sans is brokenly difficult, but Undyne actually forced me to reset, twice.

Eh, technically undyne is harder than sans, given that sans is guaranteed to do the exact same moves everytime unless you heal, then he'll usually do a pretty easy attack as filler. He even warns you when a long attack is coming after a fight, giving you the opportunity to heal fully. Undyne, on the other hand, is mostly randomized. I do kinda wish the spear blocking parts were randomized but sadly, they're not.

@@lilnutt5580 Hit the nail on the head here. Used to play a copy of the Sans fight from the chrome web store of all things. Got so good at it that three years later, when I actually bought the game and fought sans for real, it only took me three tries... as opposed to the over twenty attempts I needed to beat Undyne. Sans is all about memorizing the patterns and then adapting to the speed. Undyne needs a lot more twitch reactions by comparison since there's more randomness to the fight that you can't just autopilot through.

It really isn’t too difficult, you should see the 100+ level requirement levels of dungeon quest they have like millions of hp and most of they’re attacks are undodgeable, they do a lot of damage too it’s usually more damage than new players to the map do. So basically, if you’re new to the map, either get the healer to heal you, or die on the second attack. Also, the ones I’m talking about aren’t even minibosses in that map

Remember that can only happen if you’re really determined, especially if there’s another being with determination matching your own or greater( photoshop flowey). FLOWEY was the one who was resetting and saving because he was the most determined before Frisk came.

I would say we are using Frisk’s determination SOUL to achieve greater feats like resetting. It doesn’t seem like Frisk is our vessel as they’re able to do actions like running with Papyrus from and to their house quite easily and quickly. I’m not entirely sure that Deltarune’s concept can be applied to Undertale in that perspective. But u do have a good point.

I like that this is still pretty doable if you understand the mechanics, you just have to keep yourself from being overwhelmed by paying really close attention. the faster attacks tend to have prepared you for them already, either by previous attacks that make the faster attacks easier to predict, or harder versions of attacks thats already in undertale. good job to the mod maker!

The duble shield thing with you having to coordinate each shield for it's own color plus attacks that need both, AND the fact that it's red and blue seems like this would be a perfect candidate for a 2nd secret boss fight in the switch version. Like, a boss fight you can get by doing some specific imputs somewhere to get this harder Undyne the undying in the genocide route.
