I agree. I've been listening to metal since the late 80's and I don't really care for Ballad style singing in super heavy songs. Screaming / yelling / growling is my favorite. Listen to bands like arch enemy, pantera , as blood runs black, darkest hour , lamb of god etc; All sick as hell and you don't hear a lot of vocals sounding like someone trying to win american idol. This is the way metal should be (raw). I'm not saying I don't like melodic vocals, but in super heavy sounding stuff, the contrast is too much.

Buddy of mine in around 2004 introduced me to this band, Zao, and AILD. Never heard any core music but I was into shred type music. Saw em that year at 'ozzcore 04' at like 8 am. They had a lady in an all pleather outfit hula hooping, and ken had a guitar that said 'eat a **ck' on the back of it for a breakdown. Out of all the metal core bands I've listened to since highschool I always check to see what these guys are up to. God im old.

there is no such thing as "true metal" and this band is not "scene." just because they're metalcore, doesn't automatically make them "scene." the "true metal" concept is udder ridiculous and extremely biased as hell. all subgenres of metal is fucking metal, even metalcore and deathcore is metal rather you like it or not. it's dumbass metal elitist such as yourself give the metal community and real metalheads a horrible reputation. i'm a metalhead that loves death metal, melodic death metal, thrash metal, some black metal, groove metal, glam metal, alternative metal and i don't really mind listening to metalcore (here are some metalcore bands i enjoy: Hatebreed, Killswitch Engage, As I Lay Dying, Trivium, Bullet For My Valentine, Unearth, .). yes i might have a share of a negative opinions on certain metalcore or deathcore bands, but just because someone listens to them, doesn't automatically make them "posers" or a "emo faggot." so you can take your metal elitist bullshit and shove it up your ass. as coverkiller nation said: "be a fan, Not an elitists."
