Guinness is actually a fairly light beer. The foam on top makes it appear waaay darker than it really is. If you shine a light through it, it's actually red. The nitrous they use also makes it lighter in the stomach than most beers are, but they serve it in larger cans so it feels like you get full faster. If Guiness Draught is too bitter for you then give their Baltimore Blonde Ale a try.

I always make the argument that Guinness Draught is not heavy. It just looks heavy. The stout is another story. Am I out of my mind? Guinness Draught is the only 100/100 beer on the planet especially when chased with Irish whiskey and liquor labeled by tragic events. It's a social spice.

Guinness is incredibly low in alcohol and calories for a stout. It's at 120 calories and 4% alcohol. It isn't that heavy feeling either. The dark color makes it look heavier. Milk stouts are where you will start feeling full after one.
