It’s funny that Polar Seal, Sofia and Matt meet up and creat this information we need. Both were in the first interests which drew me to sailing. This was about 18 months ago. Since then I have purchased a Pearson 424 which I’m slowly getting to be seaworthy and will soon be sailing. Matt, Sophie and Ryan keep up the good work.

Thank you for this new video. Thank you for sharing those news, which is hard for Ryan especially. Iam happy that you show also these kind of news because most of us must work hard to affort those lifestyles. Also its always a big stretch to run a company and production successfully on land while being out on sea. Not easy at all. But life isnt always a straight road. We all will gain wisdom after those difficult and unexpected changes. Thats life. Until you both are healthy everything can be possible. So be happy and thankful for what you reached so far. Good luck and wishing you well Patricia

My dad used to say plans were made to be broken. We had planned to push off on our great adventure on a 34' Catalina from Lake Huron/northern Ontario.... and now find ourselves in a new home in Nova Scotia with a 41' sailboat we bought sight unseen during Covid and just got our hands on her late last summer. This year our plans have shifted and we are not splashing her but gonna work on her brightwork and other things on the hard.... if you happen to visit the Lunnenberg/etc area again this summer it'd be nice to see ya! But yes, just a slight detour in the adventure--- :D

Enjoy the moment this summer when you are sailing. I always thought I would enjoy sailing, but I realized I do not have the mechanical skills and necessary to be a successful scale sailor. I do have a friend in Bordeaux who has a sailboat and I have a silent partnership. I’ve only been on it once for a short. But I’m hoping one day that we sail the Mediterranean on that boat.

🇬🇧🧙🏼♂️ May i suggest you take a look specificaly at the impact of GRP micro plastics in the areas around boat working and the depositional zones such as tidal mud flats where the glass fiber's 1/20 of a hairs width get tied into the organicand clay particles and taken into the food chains. Theres a pioneering piece of work just been reported on in PBO... From the university of Brighton and also Portsmouth looking at this problem in areas where GRP boats are built worked on and undergo wear ..and abondonment. The problem is the Glass micro fillaments behave like asbestos in the marine environment. Then theres the plastic and forever chemicals shedding from the rest of the structures and waste to consider .. In europe alone 80000 tonnes of grp ends up being dumped for disposal in land fill .. The US and Canada theres even more as it makes up over half the world market.

This is a great project you’re working on. I have so many questions. First, it was great to meet Ryan at the spring sailboat show! His business philosophy is one that I agree with. It’s how I ran my construction business and it works very well. I’ll be cruising the bay this summer too! If you see Star Fire and there’s a dinghy behind it, I’m home. Come say hello! Second, since the Chesapeake’s history is one of oysters, and, oysters are filter feeders, how do micro plastics affect the quality of the oysters we’re eating. On that note, the Carpenter Street Bar in St. Michaels has the best fried oysters! If you get into Rockhall, The Flying Decoy has a fried catfish dish that’s to die for (I might be a bit of a foodie). Next up, my parents are coming to visit me, in Annapolis, and after they depart, Oxford, and Solomons Island are my destinations. I got to meet Matt and Jessica, too, at the boat show. She is an absolute sweetheart! I was birthed at ALM for six weeks this winter, right behind the office on the fuel dock. Before that, I spent two weeks at Port of A. Anyways, I running on. Swan Creek Marina is Rockhall has mooring and they have a bunch of bikes for the transient customers to use to get around. I’m off to explore the south end of town today! May you have fair winds and following seas on your next adventure whatever it may be!

Well same here...we have a beautiful boat since 2 years but before we can quit with our jobs and sail away till retirement we will need more years for "saving", selling properties and maybe even start also some sort of company. And with post-covid depression, wars and energy crisis in front of us, the challenge sometimes looks more like "mission impossible". So it's hard. But I will not give up on this big dream, never.

Great to see you back. But to be honest, I think reality is biting, and Ryan (ultimately) has a very tough decision to make. There's no way that a person can be a hands on Chairman/CEO of a company that’s still in its (relatively) early stages of making its mark. I'm guessing that there's probably been a major re-structure of the business? I would factor in that you probably won't be able to continue with the sailing life for a few more years because, if you're looking to bring a major investor in, that investor would most likely prefer that the person helming the company stays put in that role to really propel the business, for stability and continuity - unless you do an absolute woeful job of it and said investor asks you to stand down from helming the company! Either way, I honestly can't see how you'll be able to do both. You're not in Bezos's league (at the moment 😉), so until you reach that point, I'd say you have a choice to make. 🫤 good luck with it.
