Skipping Las Terrenas would be a mistake! It was 10 years ago that I was there, but it was VERY nice. Lots of art & music. Las Galeras was great, too. And Playa Madama was well worth the trip!

Go to Jarabacoa or Constanza, the coldest places in the Dominican Republic and the Caribbean, beautiful landscapes, there was even some snow 2 weeks ago, something most people wouldn't think is possible in the Caribbean

I also am Dominican and i can relate to what you were saying that when those poorer areas notice that the person is a foreigner they take advantage of you. that is why I always tell anyone that although there are people like this all around the world it is just best to be cautious and ask before doing anything, never give anything upfront, that would be money or information of any sort because people are greedy, and I know that although they might be in need that behavior it absolutely not acceptable in any way shape or form. I hope this doesn't keep happening to you and you can keep enjoying your time in the Dominican Republic

I visited DR recently, rented a car and did a road trip counterclockwise around the island, and stayed at a different place each night. Some places I recommend on the North part of the island that is not to well-known are "Arroyo" - a natural swimming pool or spring on the side of the road with a restaurant. "El Saltadero, Cabrera" - a waterfall that locals climb and jump from the top into a shallow pool, the local kids also take the clay off the rocks and rub on their face. Also in the mountains, Rio Partido is nice, there is an affordable local guide that will take you out for 3000 pesos ($60) -@riopartidosalcedord Samana Peninsula is nice as well. During my trip, I ran out of time and did not have a chance to visit the Oviedo and Bani Great videos!

Been following you since you were going up the coast in Oaxaca.. I haven't missed a video since then. Always learn something from them and enjoy sitting back and riding along as you take us around. The videos from the DR showed a place I haven't been to but wouldn't go to. I'd rather go back to Cuba, great people, good music and easy to travel. Take into account, that in places like the DR, poor people do not buy things in the supermarket, they tend to use town markets which are very informal and a lot cheaper. Also, they have a different diet, they usually consume a lot of eggs and cheap meat cuts.

Well actually they use supermarkets and sometimes the Colmados for smaller amounts of stable foods,BUT you have to be aware that supermarkets in tourist spot are super high compared to places that have very little tourist shoppers, thus the locals shop where the majority of locals shop.

I'm from Santiago de los Cabelleros. I live in Boston Massachusetts and I can tell you Santiago have better and much more Supermarkets than Boston. Where william is now is very local if you go to other cities services are much better. Eliseo if you don't know my Country as I imagine stop giving bad opinions you know nothing. I just stated a fact, that most dominican families cant afford to buy what william bought in this video (pechuga de pollo) at the super market, they either buy a whole chicken from a local supplier or they simply dont eat chicken and use other ingredients such as salami, eggs and other cheap meat cuts.

Another wonderful video. I like the parts where you are waxing philosophic. You explore many of the feeling & ideas that I have had over the last 8 years of full time travel. In March 2022 I got an apartment in Mexico City. Hotel & Air BnB prices were skyrocketing so, after 1.5 years of enjoying Mexico, it seemed to be my only option. It was a very difficult transition at the beginning because, like you, I prefer to live an untethered life. I stayed in the Mexico City apartment for 4 months & now, I am travelling again. Oddly, I am missing my life in Mexico City &, all things Mexican. I've been in SE Asia since Sept 13 and am just now starting to settle in to full time travelling again. Sadly, the post COVID world of travel is not nearly as enthralling as the pre pandemic world was. Personally, I think everything & everyone has been affected & changed by this scourge. I always said that I don't want to retire in Mexico however, after being granted a Mexican Permenant Residency Visa, when the rest of the world was shutting foreigners out, I have developed a newfound sense of respect for Mexico. Fortunately, my residency visa never expires so, I can leave & come back as often as I need to. That's a good thing. Feliz Navidad y Prospero Año 2023

The food you cooked looked really good the colors were such a nice combination. Watch it on the pasta, the carbs will drain you of energy if you eat too much. But, what really made want to post is you made me laugh so hard with during the closet scene. So enjoyable to watch as usual.
