Unexpected Explosion | Miami Vice

In one of the best Miami Vice opening scene, Crockett, Tubbs, Switek and Zito are running surveillance on a known smuggler, who meets with another man on a bridge over one of Miami's many waterways.
From Miami Vice Season 1 Episode 15 'Smuggler's Blues': Someone in law enforcement is murdering drug dealers and their families in cold blood. To find the culprit, Crockett and Tubbs go undercover and travel to Colombia with a laid-back pilot to pose as dealers.

This episode is one of Miami Vice's highly influential episodes that producer Micheal Mann revisited it for his 2006 big screen version of the show. But Farrell & Fox are now match for Johnson & Thomas who will always be the definative versions of Crockett & Tubbs.

Small suggestion at the end of your videos, is it possible to leave the musical intro of Jan Hammer until the end, or at least, to make a fade-out of the musical piece, because it cuts dry, it's unpleasant, to better represent the concern that "Miami Vice" has always had in the perfect editing at the sound and visual level, rarely seen elsewhere?...thanks :)

Although Lt. Martin Castillo rarely engaged in the show's many shootouts, his weapon of choice was a Colt Trooper Mk V 357 magnum with a six inch barrel. It's improbably large for a plain-clothes officer whose duties are primarily administrative. It may have been an attempt to remind Sonny Crockett who has the bigger gun.

Michael Mann had his actors train with real-life undercover law enforcement officers. Both Jamie Foxx and Colin Farrell observed undercover operations from a safe distance. Farrell was told he'd learned so much, he was welcome to participate in a real sting operation. During the operation (caught on video, excerpts of which are shown in the DVD extra), guns were drawn and the officers identities questioned. Farrell reports being scared for his life. He spontaneously ripped open his shirt to demonstrate he wasn't wearing a wire, an act the agent-in-charge later commended for being realistic, quick-witted improvisation. After suffering anxiety and insomnia that night, Farrell contacted the agent-in-charge and was told that the sting operation was staged, and he was never in any danger. He was to be told the next morning during a debrief.
