Well, I've noticed that people from English speaking areas don't to pay attention to the correct pronunciation of a name from a foreign country. Just listen to the reporters of a sporting event......the names of the foreign athletes are sometimes distorted beyond recognition. It would be obvious to ask a native speaker colleague about a correct pronunciation...
