Retired JLR certified sales guy, with the svr put it into sport mode, you can then press the exhaust button which opens up the inner exhaust valve.. and gives it the real pops and crackles, it also ups the power curve (and lowers fuel consumption).. you had it in auto mode.. when its in sport mode the dashboard goes into red and changes the display… But i’d not tell the wife about that, just keep that to yourself 😉 Also i had clients with the same engine who had done 400,000+ miles on the same engine.. but regular servicing is a ‘must’.. these cars are expensive to service so often people don’t bother..and then surprise they break down.. then they complain about poor reliability even though it didnt have an official service in 5+ years

Also press the start button without holding the brake to bring the electrics on to open all the valves before starting the engine, that’s way the whole neighbourhood can hear you in the morning. 2020 F pace SVR, sounds like a chainsaw on the downshifts.

Most of the people who rag on Land Rover reliability have never owned a Land Rover. Modern Land Rovers are pretty reliable. First, it's hard to define what a "Land Rover" is anymore. Just like with any other auto manufacturer, so many of the parts are built by third-parties who also make parts for all the other auto manufacturers. On my LR4, my starter is a Denso, my injectors are Bosch, my transmission is a ZF, etc. I've owned it for almost 7 years now and it's just about as reliable as the Land Cruiser 80 series I owned for 8 years.

It seems like the pre-facelift L405s from 2013-2017 are the sweet spot for full-sized Range Rovers. They have the best reliability out of all the generations being on par with the German competition, and Land Rover really stepped up their game for materials in that generation. Beginning in 2018, things went downhill again when they added too much unnecessary technology like electronically-opening cup holders and in-house drivetrains in the form of the Ingenium engines (or what I call the “Ignoramous” engines).

I started watching Tyler’s channel several years ago. While I’m sure he keeps a close eye on the popularity of different subjects, I’m going to offer my humble opinion on this episode and some others. Hoovie’s Garage didn’t start as some kind of “Lifestyles of the Rich and Fabulous” channel. It was a guy with a well developed sense of self deprecating humour buying cars that wiser people would not have purchased. The unwise choice of vehicles lead to some interesting experiences. Experiences most of the people watching could probably relate to from their own horrifying experiences keeping odd and or old cars running. I can’t relate to trading in a six figure car for a more expensive six figure car because my wife can’t reach the backseat. It seems that the majority of Tyler’s content now revolves around extremely expensive cars. Speaking only for myself, I’m just not that interested in exotic super cars and the installation of a custom exhaust system that costs more than any of the cars in the first years of Tyler’s show. I hope this isn’t the future direction of the channel as I’ve never been that interested the trials and drama of poor rich people. As always YMMV.

10/10 recommend getting SVR. Mechanically very reliable coming from a jaguar/Land Rover technician. A lot of people don’t realize foreigns are more high maintenance than let’s say your common Chevy, but when taken care of they’re fabulous cars.
@MrCarGuy2 жыл бұрын
"Foreigns" means nothing. Don't lump JLR in with the rest, as they're ranked with one of the highest "problems per 100 vehicles" for a reason. But, then again, ICE cars are less reliable in general now as they're adding more and more complication to meet emissions regs and produce requisite numbers

Hi Tyler: You mentioned the clunking sound in your Rover - you said it was an easy fix. Please explain. I have a 2019 Rover HSE supercharged and I have a clunking sound in the back right rear side of the car. They have suggested it might be the front Dynamic roll response, but the clunking is not in the front. Dealership can't duplicate so for now, I have no resolution. Please tell me how yours was fixed. Thanks so much

Unfortunately, when looking at the Range Rover Sport as a vehicle, according to the reliability report from ReliabilityIndex (for 2019), it can be said that performance is poor. The reliability score of the Sport is 366, which gives this model a lower score than the brand received as a whole. Repair costs are another issue that can be seen as unimpressive, with owners seeing an average charge of almost £480 if it needs to visit the garage.
@johnsonrj742 жыл бұрын
I bought a certified pre-owned 2019 RR Sport eith a 4 year, unlimited mileage warranty. We love it (drove 978 miles one day from Montana to California and it was a breeze). That said, the second that 4 years is up, it's getting traded for another one!

I work at a Honda dealership as a service advisor and I just bought a 2019 Odyssey to replace our 2010 Odyssey. In this market we all know prices are crazy. More than once I have felt like I had to justify purchasing a pre-owned vehicle in this market when talking to my friends about it. It shouldn’t be like that, and I could feel that you were doing the same thing. Haters are going to disagree and say what they will but at the end of the day you can do as you please! I don't like the SVR - it's very tacky, and an suv svr is a dumb idea. Suv/jeep = raised height, then you stiffen and lower it to make it "racing" while still being super heavy and massive... The regular car is great, the svr version on that model is very ugly, in my opinion.
