How did you calculate how many men each faction should have? Both Sturgia and Aserai had 70 more men than their opponents.

@@petercalhoun5837 they all had 300 total troops (+ monarch leading them) 150 infantry troops (120 shield infantry + 30 shock troops) 70 archers (non noble 50 noble troops 30 non noble cav troops or horse archers, depending on what the faction has. Battania doesn't have regular archers, but they do have two non noble cavalry units, so they had a few more cavalry than the rest because of this, and some more infantry. Khuzaits don't have any infantry shock troops, so they had more horse archers and cavalry since they also have two non noble horse units like battania. All the other factions followed the general template. Since this was just one battle on an uneven ground, with AI mostly commanding the battle (I fixed some stupid AI decisions like some infantry troops trying to use their javs/throwing axes when they couldn't even hit them since they were behind other friendly infantry that was in a melee fight).

Skirmishing with aserai is a bad decision. You can't beat them at that, they have good archers and their infantry has javelins.
