I can’t believe I can’t remember this choreographer’s name right now but she was amazing and whenever she was interviewed and asked to explain her work she would give up really quickly and just said: “just watch my pieces, they speak for themselves”. Legend

I just watched Sylvain's response to this tag and I am loving this conversation! Art is meant to be consumed, devoured and interpreted in our own way. That's what makes art, art!! I want to do a VR to this! Thank you and Sylvain for sharing your thoughts. 🌟

But who is this mysterious friend? The suspense is killing me! They must be soooooo smart (and humble)! 🙂🤨 So, you know what I think about this topic, but I will say that you do explain your point elegantly! So let's contribute to this conversation, people! 😃

Thank you for sharing! I agree that the Tarot is, like art, subjective. It’s an intuitive tool. I don’t feel there is a right or wrong way, and that’s why I love it! I also love art, and putting the two together is AMAZING (and amazingly addictive…lol).

Oooh this is such a great conversation. It's like, what are we searching for when we start to buy more than one tarot deck? Is it just more artist interpretations of those same 78 cards, or are we looking for new ways to expand on our own interpretations, and experience using the tarot. I also don't particularly like being explained to by a guidebook, if it's too specific with little mystery or room for interpretation, the deck is not nearly as appealing to me. I think that's why I like using soul cards so much. It's pure interpretation, with no explanation. xx

Even with guidebooks, you can't control how people will feel about the art. Such as the Devil card. Some people love that he's fat and fun, others see hate and gluttony. And others are just terrified.

I just want to enjoy the art and my own interpretation. I don’t care what the artist was thinking or why they did what ever for the most part . It’s the same with music . I do not care about the artist background, political beliefs etc.

These are the convos I wish I could have in my everyday life! Because I think of Tarot as an energized tool for speaking to the divine, artist intent and character matter to me to some extent (because that energy is in it) but so is the energy of the collective understanding of Tarot readers, my own energy, and the energy of anyone I might read for, etc. If I know there was an intent I don’t like or agree with, I might do a cleansing of that and set my own intention, but that’s just my own thing. There absolutely are decks I would buy at least in part because I love/trust the creator’s vibe. (Ahem) Losing one’s intuitive ability because of using Tarot would be such a very sad irony. Art in a museum, I could give a rat’s butt about the artists intention; it gets the point across or it doesn’t; it hits me in the feels, or it doesn’t. Like you mentioned, I don’t wanna give my $ to shithead artists though. “That mofo made himself up!” I mean, rad right? We should all be doing that! 🥂❤️ I’m so glad you posted this video; thanks for feeding my 🧠.

Everything you said in this video is why that Tarot book you read was so awful, like geez Mr. Tarot dude, don’t try to explain every mystery away.

The day I watched this video, I had just made a deal on the Crow's Magick Tarot guidebook and deck set on Ebay and I was thinking what?? no guidebook needed? Do I need it? No. Do I REALLY, REALLY want it to have a deeper deck experience....YES!!! I am nerdy and I love to have deep diving guidebooks with my decks. I have learned that about myself that I am a little crazy about researching, study and detailed guidebooks with decks. I have been purging many decks that have no guidebooks. That said, I also love Soul Cards (no guidebook needed)... just beautiful art!!! No words needed. I can't explain the difference and why I don't need it, but I just don't for that deck.

Is it just me or do you feel like you could say "spiritually influenced" as the snide remark to someone lol 😂

Yeah like they didn’t know what to say so they just wrote “spiritually influenced”! Ha!
