Chris Pappas handled Sizwe's bias very well. When you're privileged like Sizwe, it's hard to understand suffering by the hands of the failing government when you don't experience it yourself. Chris has the people's interests at heart

I did not pick up the slightest hint of bias at all. I think the questions Sizwe asked, were fair. All our politicians should face very tough questions, and Chris handled himself very well.

Don't get me wrong politicians need to handle heat. My comparison is other interviews, take the Orania guy for example. Sizwe was engaged, follow on questions. Here he just fires questions with subtle jabs, doesn't engage. It's almost like he's forced to do an interview he doesn't want to, so makes it really boring and insulting. I'm probably biased cause I like Pappas style but I feel Sizwe is capable of much better

I honestly don’t think that he was trying to corner him or to try and make him look bad There is one thing as white South Africans we need to start accepting and deal with and that is until the day that we can truly acknowledge that we don’t understand the deep pain that was caused to black South Africans, black South Africans will never trust white South Africans So yes everything that is done should reflect that you acknowledge it, the way you behave the way we act everything needs to show that we are sorry about what happened, and by this I don’t mean white South Africans should fall on their knees in front of every black South African and apologise Let me use a example Firstly if you are in a relationship with someone and you screwed up and broke your partners trust, you treat your partner with respect and work hard to regain their trust, I think it’s fair that the majority of white South Africans has not done that and have just continued with the lives they always did and did not try and change their behaviour With this in mind it is important to recognise that black South Africans is justified to distrust white people and need more convincing, if this was a relationship do you think your partner would have forgiven you if you treated her the way majority of white South Africans still treat black South Africans and if you can’t see this then you are extremely selfish and should not be in this relationship because being part of the country is been in relationships So I guess what I am trying to say is and ask of my fellow white South Africans is treat everyone the way you would treat your family and yes see colour not to judge people but to know how to approach a problem, and to acknowledge what is important to that person, just be respectful and be patient if you feel like people aren’t trusting you because of the colour of your skin, yes we are 30 years into democracy but we still have a long way to go to fix this relationship

Indoctrinated fool, learn your history and understand what over 400+ years means.... And if you are religious, you already lost, for that's is and was their justification. The world is rapidly changing and we have the numbers and birth rates so if I we're you, I would decolonize my mind. See it's always been about race and the coloured community is an example of that power race has, that's why they fear melanin. So yeah race politics, after all they are the only politics we've had for 400 years....

Sizwe touched on many different issues, you just got emotional when it got to race and that's the general attitude of a lot of white people in this country. People keep saying he's biased yet fail to recognise their own bias about not wanting him to talk about race, which is still a serious issue in this country.
@garagepie

@pho977 yes the racist ANC with their racist policies is a big issue I agree. Worse than that is people after 30 years don't have water, sanitation, education, healthcare, rubbish removal, public transport, JOBS the list is endless....
@pho977
@pho977 Жыл бұрын
@garagepie, unlike you, I am willing to accept that we have serious issues in this country, not only created by the brutal apartheid system but also by the current government. The ANC has indeed failed. I will never try to defend that, but the difference between you and I is that you fail to acknowledge the fact that we have serious race issues and inequalities in this country and would rather we not talk about them and only focus on the issues that affect you directly. White concerns are not superior to black concerns, like it or not we all live in this country and have different experiences.

@@CodeSleeper The DA is not colour blind at all!! It understands that mostly black people were discriminated against during Apartheid and has a credible and very workable Redress Policy to make up for past inequalities. It has the experience, capability and capacity to uplift people out of poverty in record time, which is unmatched by any other political party in SA (as well as the track record to prove it!!) The DA is also the most racially diverse political party in the long history of SA and prides itself on its racial diversity!! It also walks the talk, having Black, White , Coloured and Indian persons in its Top 6 Leadership structure. The ANC and EFF on the other hand are 100 % Black, while the Freedom Front is 100% White!! As the Springboks have shown us , we are much stronger as a nation when we work together , rather than apart! Now do you see what I mean?

I dont get where is Sizwe bias in this interview at some point he even points out that when it comes to service delivery the DA beats the ANC hands down. The only point he is trying the DA to focus on is the stigma that the DA is a racist party that. People must not pick up their phones with the aim of destroying Sizwe simply bcz his father is an EFF member but rather to listen to understand his interview direction.

The problem is that ANC and EFF voters do not want to see that those that claim to represent their case are only in it for themselves. Its hard for observers to fathom these behaviours but; it explains the pain of the hopeless voter's abandon to these people. ANC is truly a den of thieves. And the EFF will murder the baby in the crib. We can only pray for God's mercy; perhaps to send a spirit of confusion amongst them all.

I hope everybody saw hiw Chris dilly dallied around the question of what he plans to empower the black people who were marginalised by apartheid. I was laughing so hard but was not suprised. He seems to think the building of roads will empower us instead of the exchange of wealth. Yet when we talk about wyt peoples wealth we not only speak about roads, access to water but we also speak of economic wealth, land etc In short white people have no plan to serious empower black people and level the playing field. Instead like all wyt people in his party he resorts to attacking those initiatives that were thought as could result in sharing of the wealth.

Keep fooling yourself that race and apartheid are history. Legacy issues will continue to haunt as long as they are not dealt with sincerity. A lot of South Africa’s problems are legacy issues, ANC’s failures including corruption sometimes done in concert with same apartheid era fat cats/beneficiaries does not atone for the sins of the past. Despite the wins the structural inequality that were created pre 1948 and post 1948 - 1994 will still need to be addressed with or without ANC.
