I am praying with this album, Trivium will finally get the recognition they so obviously deserve. The only song on the this album that was started previously according to the guys, was “The Phalanx”, which they started when they were writing the Shogun album.. Matt said they couldn’t get the middle of the song correct at that time, so they finished it for this album. 10 albums total. As to why they are not as popular as other bands, I have no idea. It’s a mystery to me. Great reaction! You may turn into a Trivium junkie like me😂 Fun fact, Matt was 13 when he joined the band, thirteen.

I've heard the entirety of Triviums discography many times. Them being my favorite band, and I can confidently say this is my favorite song by them now. Also, Shogun, Ascendancy, In Waves, and The Sin And The Sentence are great albums to start with. (I almost cried when I first heard this song it was beautiful.)

I put the album on shuffle when I drove to the shops, this song gave me chills when it played. Trivium puts out songs where you shouldn't skip through it to see if you like it, like a good story from start to finish. On that note I love your reactions, keep up the good work man! \m/

Say what you want about the album as a whole but this song is literally flawless. Also, they may not be as popular as it seems they should be but they are good friends with many of those top tier musicians. Who they associate with speaks volumes.

It could be that the same inspiration that’s caused many of our 80’s and 90’s greats to drop albums and EP’s and singles every other day may have hit Trivium in this instance, basically the opposite of writer’s block, it may have just been a total vibe they hit and boom, album and then another album. The Phalanx was already a piece they were working on for like a decade but they may have finished it and then a lightbulb just clicked for the theme they would go for.
