Bonus: The songs for the battle of the eagle and lion and the battle of gronder fully spell out "blue skies and a battle between heaven and earth". I'm pretty sure most of the songs in this game are all one half of a full title, much like how the first half of the game is the incomplete sentence that the second half will always complete and leave you feeling unsatisfied somehow, as you could never save everyone no matter how much you want to.

Unfulfilled is such an underrated track. It's just so simple, yet so heart rending. For any character it's absolutely fitting but for me, it's definitely what made me tear up at the end of Blue Lions. Edelgards and Dimitri's relationship from childhood sweethearts to ruthless enemies. Like Dimitri said before "A sweet memory with a bitter ending."

Hearing Unfulfilled the first time along with seeing Dimitri again was heartbreaking. ''Dimitri... What happend to you?'' was my thought. The ''Everything will be alright'' choice made me tear up. If there was the option to hug edgy Dimitri at that moment, you bet I would slammed that button. Poor guy deserves it.

There's several songs in the game's OST that in a sense completes a different song, much like completing sentences, and it's show with the titles. Another commenter pointed out "A promise unfulfilled", but see "blue skies and a battle" and "between heaven and earth" as two others for the example. It's all representative of how no matter what you do, you will be left with a story that leaves you feeling just a little empty inside, because no matter what, one character you at least have some sympathy for meets a tragic end. No matter what you do, any combination of edelgard, dimitri, claude, and rheacan be killed, and their hopes and dreams, for better or worse, come crashing down, all after this game lets you see them as the humans they were before being leaders.

My first playthrough was edelgard and I believed in what she stood for. I loved the entire route and didnt question her once. And during this route I thought dimitri was just an annoying edgelord. Fast forward to two days ago just played through Dimitris route and my world turned upside down. I got angry and sad at El for losing her way. She stooped to new lows to build a future that was non existent. There is no future if you cant save the present. What tied it all together for me was remembering the dark knight line where they say, "You either die a hero, or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain." They all lost themselves but el just took it to a whole new level. PS: Absolutely beautiful rendition. I loved it.

Edelgard's proper theme. This song plays each time you defeat her. Each time its sad as the song drives in the fact that she's not evil or remotely cruel. She's a woman with a dream for the world to be free of a corrupt crest & nobility system. A woman who becomes leader of her own empire seeking to set the world free of an oppressive ideology. Without Byleth, Edelgard takes action into her own hands by whatever means necessary. Without the anchor or support, she will fail her cause but does so without fear.

I one problem that I have with her is that she believes that Rhea is the cause of it all, that Rhea is the ultimate evil in the game, and while Rhea is pretty bad, with the way she handled Fodlan and crests as a whole, but not the true evil. Those Who Slither In The Dark (TWSITD) brainwashed and experimented her family when she was a child and that took a toll on her. El isn't evil either, like you said, she is a misguided person and I really wished that she asked others on the truth. :(

When I started playing Fire Emblem Three Houses, I also started a masters degree, which has been one of the hardest trials I've ever put myself through. In a few months I'll finally be finished the degree, and throughout this whole experience one of the things that gave me joy was playing FE3H with my twin every evening. I'm saving this song, and I'm going to listen to it the minute I finish my final thesis defense. I can't wait to have the biggest cry of my life.

Oof I still sympathize with her, but in all honestly Dimitri and Claude for me get it more since she was one tracked minded on the method to how to start a war and the fact that with or without Byleth she would have started it regardless. In a way, Byleth makes her a decent percent. Its like "Let's used Demonic Beasts!" and Byleth is like "No, bad El!". We basically somewhat "nerf FE4 Arvis" in joking terms. People have compared her to Alm from Fire Emblem Echoes, but considering the way he's framed in that game, I really don't see it. They may have Empire based lands in common, but the framings of their characters are very different even if we were to compare Celica and Byleth's influence on Alm and El's mindsets and actions throughout their set paths.
