I’m a big fan of Nightmare Before Christmas and Corpse Bride, but I’m not one of those folks who will aggressively argue with someone who doesn’t feel the same as I do. Everyone likes what they like. I do feel like the merch and the zeal for Nightmare Before Christmas has gotten rather out of control in recent years, and people need to chill out about it.

I have a Nightmare Before Christmas tattoo and lots of merch, and I have to agree with you 😅 I prefer Corpse Bride too. The main reason I enjoy it is because my mom. She finally accepted the whole goth thing after seeing it and then got me Nightmare Before Christmas EVERYTHING after that. So it makes me think of her and how it turned her from being afraid to super excited for me to be a Goth

I think it’s natural for goths to like hip-hop, and many of my 90s goth friends do. Goth and industrial are always lumped together, and industrial and hip hop overlap quite a bit in terms of production style and attitude. It’s all punk music to us

It's so interesting hearing this type of video. I love how open you are about them. I also love how you clarify everything for baby bats. A few of mine are that I actually love bird songs and classical music more than Goth music. I do listen to my favorite bands, but when I'm getting up in the morning, and when I'm stressed, bird songs really help me to calm down & feel at peace. I do have quite a bit of stress lately, so I've been enjoying just watching little birds singing in videos here on YT. I love Corpse Bride best too. I find it such a beautiful story and I always cry when Emily turns into butterflies and her spirit if freed

I've been CD collecting for a few years now, and I prefer it greatly to vinyl! I get my CDs used from the discogs marketplace for much cheaper than usual. I also have a Sony walkman (I'm the same way - I always have headphones in) and it has been really nice to have when doing deep dives into albums. Loved this vid! (Also a huge Megan Thee Stallion fan 😝)

Oh my gosh, so on the Nightmare Before Christmas thing I totally get you lol .. I personally really like it but only really during that time of year because like you said, there's SOOOO much Nightmare Before Christmas merch out there just in your face all the time. And the fans of it tend to be so diehard. But honestly for me, ANYTHING that's always in my face is gonna turn me off it. The only thing I dread about Halloween being over is that at midnight on the dot November 1st (in the US at least) is when Christmas is everywhere. Christmas on the radio, Christmas in the shops, Christmas on the streets.. There is no holiday I'm more tired of than Christmas before it even begins. But I do agree Halloween is probably the second longest drawn out here too so I understand that sentiment lol This was fun to watch, thanks for sharing 🖤🖤🖤

Oh yes 100% agree the fans are ride or die and anything you say is wrong. That bugs me about it too. 🦇👻🖤 Halloween here in the UK all the cool stuff is out in July and it's gone by October, more like September 1st so Christmas is in shops in October and it makes me wanna get excited for Gothmas! But the UK really doesn't care for Halloween which sucks! 🦇👻🖤🦇👻🖤

Oh dear, I had a whole box full of The Nightmare Before Christmas merchandise, and most certainly not because I actually liked it or the film, but distant relatives and acquaintances just kept on sending it to me for every single Christmas and birthday for years on end. When we moved, I took the whole thing and donated it; I hope it did more good that way than just gathering dust in our old flat.

This is RANDOM but u loveeee the doll in the back ,reminds me of a Coraline type of doll with how it matches you,and I keep staring at it 😭 Also the corpse bride thing is so fr; I always related to that as I am STILL always gifted nightmare before Christmas merch , but personally I love corpse bride, and beetle juice the cartoon from many years ago(hence the pfp)

Ok, I still feel like a baby bat sometimes because I got into goth more recently (imposter syndrome) but I do have some confessions. One, I actually like warm and sunny weather. I mean it’s no fun that climate change is melting us, but I lived in a very cold, wet, gloomy area for 8 years thinking that would make me comfier than the blazing desert state I grew up in. But seasonal depression is soooooo real, even for goths. I can’t with the stereotype that we’re all vampires who hate the sun. Second, yeah tbh I hate Nightmare Before Christmas. Can’t stand the slow pace and the cheesy dialogue for some reason lol. Lastly, I also think it should be more ok to listen to other types of music. I love my goth music so much but sometimes a girl just needs to sing along to Chappell Roan while doing bat eyeliner instead
