I am enrolled in a course, Positive Psychology, an online course offered through the University of North Carolina. Studies are proving that Loving Kindness Meditation improves physical health, by slowing the heart rate. There are of course, other benefits. This particular training video is good.

thank you for the meditation! Can I give you honest, constructive feedback to make this even better ? The voice in there didn't quite work for me. I found her not so loving, but a bit prescriptive. I think 50% of the guided meditation's effectiveness come from the meditation leader being in that loving state themselves. I think the same meditation text with a slightly more loving voice would have even more effect on the thousands of listeners. I hope I wasnt too harsh, but helpful. :) thank you again for doing this and making the world a better place :)

I loved this meditation before and even more so now. Your clear directions, repetition of the phrases, and reassuring commentary all give the listener time to assimilate and move gently into each layer. I will use this in my practice with clients and recommend to others. Thank you.

Thank you so much. I am happy to see this ancient formula presented within the context of a modern western clinical setting. I am grateful it has traveled the oceans of time to be wielded by contemporary healers. Bless you Kathleen for the beautiful video and bless you for all your efforts to relieve the suffering of your brothers and sisters.

Hi tumaru. I too experience feelings that are very opposite to lovingness. In advice I have received, always the instruction is to let whatever comes, be there. Gil Fronsdal calls it "breaking the crust of the heart" - all of the experiences of your life, the hurts, losses, affronts and so on have to find their way to the surface, sort of like boiling them off. The feelings of kindness come on their own with time - you plant a seed, and it grows (though may take much time). Best wishes to you :)

Thank you for freely sharing this meditation. I got here after watching COMPASSION MEDITATION from Emory University. After hearing the evidence about the vagus nerve, I wanted to try the actual meditation myself. I believe it's around the 46 min in the Emory video if anyone is curious of the findings of the study using this meditation. One point I would humbly make about the locating of the heart, you may also try placing the tips of your index and middle finger on breastbone, smaller contact.

Loving Kindness, I lost my best friend , and all kinds of wierd spiritual stuff is happening to me, I think it may be kundalini awakening, I am trying to remain calm I feel great joy and sadness and not so much snakes but formless nature shapes expanding in clouds, I feel love to all and it reminds me of primal peace, healing , loving kindness the world is psychic in a good way
