While I have no particular aversion to Cremello horses, I was so relieved I didn't get the variation Buggy. He was perfectly perfect as is. The gambler's choice thing Breyer has an affinity for is not my favourite thing either. But, it has worked out in my favour in the past, so I can't complain too hard about it. lol. Have fun customizing the Mojaves!

I'm really glad the mispainted Mojave went to you instead of someone who was hoping for a show-quality model! You have the tools and the skills to customize him into an even better version! And I agree, I'm not very keen on Breyer's fascination with Gambler's Choice models (I don't tend to like decorators, and most Gambler's Choice variations include a decorator), and I didn't bother getting Buggy because I didn't like either variation. I think his variation was more "decorator gold" than cremello.

I'm relieved I didn't get any variations of the models I've purchased (Studebaker and Wells). I just bought Speos during the second chance sale. Fingers crossed I don't get the variation on him LOL

You are not the only one tired of all the variations. I want to know exactly what I’m paying for. I work way too hard for my money to throw it away on a model I don’t like or want & I don’t care how rare it is. I wanted the Scurry they revealed. I loved the red bay color. If I didn’t I wouldn’t have wanted him. When I saw the cremello variation I was livid. I don’t want that one & if I had known there was going to be a variation I didn’t want I would have just bought the bay one I did want on the secondary market rather than risk getting the cremello. With the exception of the Surprise Breyer either needs to stop with the color variations or reveal ALL of them beforehand like they did with Dead Heat & tell us the split so we’ll know what the chances are of getting what we want. Give us all the info we need to make an informed decision then let us decide. Breyer also needs to realize that it’s not alway possible to trade. Trades only work out about half the time. Just ask the people that got the braided version of Jump & Drive or the Cheeto 7 Arts Surprise or the matte version of every matte/glossy split. They just need to stop already

The good part about most of the 2023 variations is that the monetary value of them is much higher than the regular. The runs were limited enough. So you can make a profit if you don’t want them. It is a pain to have to seek out the one you do want, though I think alot of people really seem to like it as a part of the BreyerFest experience being in person. I personally don’t love it for myself. If it’s too much of a risk for you, you could always wait until you can find the one you want on the secondary market.

That’s my plan. No more BF tickets. A friend gives me her extra wristband & celebration model voucher so I can go to the Horse Park but all the SR models I want will be purchased at the hotel. The production runs on the LE’s & SR’s are now so large it’s easy to find them at or below cost if you wait a couple of years.
