Mate for future reference and others. You should never turn on uhf while aerial is not connected. I can't remember why, but there is a reason. Been uhh interstate trucker for 30 odd yrs. Thanks for sharing

Sweet, If you have a quad loc one available? Question, is there enough wiring for the original hazard switch so it can be relocated to the LH side? Or is a extension cable needed?

Pretty sure where you mount the main unit is largely irrelevant as the hand piece are often both a mic and a speaker all in one. At least that is the case on the Oricom and GMEs I use🤔
