[Unintentional ASMR] Micháel Ó Muircheartaigh - Christmas Sandwich

Because I could not find the original video, I decided to upload a copy. This is the unofficial second installation of Mr. Muircheartaigh's sandwich series. I enjoy his relaxing voice, his Irish, and the earnestness he has for making a standard Christmas leftovers sandwich.

@@wewjoj Had to look it up and yeah, born 1930. So when he talked about tomatoes not being around til after WWII he could speak from personal experience. Even as a child/preteen you can still recollect things clearly. Also makes sense someone his age/from his time that he can casually utter sentences in Irish Gaelic. Probably an aspect of Irish culture seen with greater significance back then and taught to more students. Makes me wonder how many of the younger generation in Ireland is taught it/can speak it? Language is one of the most important aspects of a culture, I hope it'll continue to live on!

@@jahrfuhlnehm He’s from a part of the country where people speak it as their mother tongue (an Ghaeltacht). When he was a sports commentator (up til about ten years ago), he would routinely intersperse his English language commentary with Irish language phrases. Sadly, a lot of Irish people don’t bother to make an effort to learn it, although the Irish channel (TG4) produces some great shows.

Had no idea this existed, uploaded 11 months ago you say? Compared to the original one this one seems more forced, like "people loved your sandwich video, we need you to do another one!" He seems to admit as much here. Putting together ingredients he doesn't know much of or care as much about. Say what you will about his first sandwich, the end result is a perfectly edible, normal sandwich. Here, avocado and cranberry? Can't imagine two things that go _least_ together than that. Or something as un-Irish as avocado (yeah I can believe he's never tried it himself). Sure, avocados are a pretty global thing to have but for a video like this it feels off. But in any case I love hearing him talk in settings like this so I don't mind too much. At 91 years old now, I hope he gets to live at least several more years. After finding that out I must say he's aged amazingly well!
