But he is no wiser or honest then you or I. Even in this video he is trying to convince himself he is a "global citizen" when in fact he was a Vietnamese Buddhist monk to his core. He missed his home all his time in exile. It came through every time he discussed Vietnam.....and that's how it should be. He was also blinded by celebrity politicians. He doted on Mandela somehow overlooking the fact that Mabdela wasn't just an unrepentant terrorist and murderer bit someone who assisted his wife escape justice for having little boys burned alive. Also the government he ushered in is no less racist than the one it replaced and far more corrupt. He is a gentle soul but terribly misguided. Because most people don't come here for the message but for the asmr. It's quite easy to not care/be patient when you're a monk he doesn't have that much to worry about. If you actually wanna affect the world then stress is a must, it's how you deal with it that matters.

I tell you one thing: while I may not agree with a lot of the spiritual assertions that Buddhism makes, there are a number of wonderful and wise things to take away from it. The idea of stopping before one speaks, and making a promise to oneself that what they say will be "beautiful, like flowers"...that's awesome.
