I can't tell you how glad I am you covered this historic move! It's not enough to shoot the video, people need to understand the narrative and context, and you provided all in spades. And drone footage! WTF, icing on the cake!! Total props.

@@RoamingRailfan Credit where credit is due, brother. I've been following your Brightline updates since Day 2 (lol). Moved to FL a year ago. When Miami-Orlando opens would love to take the trip with you and get your insights on the whole shebang. Business Class, of course. Dinner on me. 😀

Those drone shots are spectacular. 10 years ago, getting shots like that would be a multi-million dollar operation.

Amazing to see the old and the newer rolling stock. What a beautiful sight making it through the countryside and not a care in the world. It must have been a grand time when steam power rolled across the United States and forged rail travel for both freight and passenger service. Those steam whistles are haunting from a distance and really get you excited when the train passes. Great job documenting this movement of equipment and happy Union Pacific donated some fine rolling stock to the museum.

Wow, what a special surprise! I have heard about these locomotives, and it's awesome that you were able to catch them. It's fantastic that UP is donating these so that they can be operational again. Thank you for sharing!

Your videos are so professional. I have watched other videos concerning this move and yours is far superior to all of them put together. I really appreciate your narration during the film. You always give so much information which makes viewing even more interesting. Thank you for your attention to detail!

First, it's good to see such classic and historic stock going to a place that can keep them in good shape and allow fans to visit them in the future. And, it's good to see you cover theses sorts of events outside of Florida and California! Good job!

This video is a great contribution to the factual railfan dialog. Seeing the rods and rivers in motion against the flat plains says a lot about steam power and how it grabs our hearts.

I knew you would capture this historic move from both the air and ground. You spoil us! Well done. You and Railfan Dan and DIB and Danny Harmon are the best of the best on KZbin

Nice video! I learned some interesting information about the donation special. I also caught the special on the Iowa Interstate after the train was rerouted at Council Bluffs due to congestion on the UP Boone Sub.

6318 and 6236 were the two SP units that passed the special both heading WB.

North Platte’s Bailey Yard is the largest rail classification yard in the world. Union Pacific still going big. 😏💪
@RoamingRailfan2 жыл бұрын
There might be a video on that yard coming soon too…
@patrickhuot0012 жыл бұрын
@@RoamingRailfan Good to know. Given the yard’s sheer size, I can expect the video to be at least 30 minutes long. No problem with that, though. You do such a great job.

Nebraska is the best railroading state
@jovetj2 жыл бұрын
As a Nebraskan, I can't declare it _the best_ but there's a lot of great things to see here. It really depends on what kinds of railroading you like. If you like 3 mile long coal drags racing 50 miles per hours through tiny towns, then it's the best!

Nope, Cheyenne will continue to be home to Big Boy 4014, the 844, and the other items in still in the heritage fleet.

Restoration of two long stored locomotives will cost a ton if done in a first class manner like UP did with the Big Boy. Unless some has deep pockets I'm not optimistic.

This organization has the expertise, facilities, and a significant amount of money already raised for the restorations. There is a reason UP approached them about the donation…

Question? When the 5511 is being restored, will they give her roller bearings or keep the friction bearings?
