People continue to be surprised with how good the Fender pedals are. They really have pulled their fingers out on these. What is particularly good is that they are quite affordable too. Which is a very good thing. I bought the Marine Layer Reverb to do one thing and ended up using it for a different sound and it is amazing. It does what I have wanted to do for a long time. Will be interesting to see what happens next.

On the HOF 2x4, what does predelay do? That's the only thing which affects the sound that is different from the regular sized HOF2. Does predelay make the fictional space larger or smaller, thus affecting the time of the first repeat?
@ThatPedalShow Жыл бұрын
Pre delay is like a kind of built in slapback… kinda. Imagine there a wall in front of you - turning the predelay up will move that wall further away from you, increasing the time between when you play the note and when the effect kinda kicks in. It can be useful if you need to stand slightly more forward in the mix. I thought the regular HOF2 had predelay too, but I could absolutely be wrong! Mick here.

My favorite series is back! Mick, I wanted to let you know that you can't judge tube plate voltage by the current draw of the pedal. Most of the current draw goes to the heaters, and for triodes the current through the plate is about 1mA or less even at high voltages.
@ThatPedalShow5 жыл бұрын
Okay, thanks. But I also know that to run valves properly in a pedal, you need a good few hundred milliamps or a lot of voltage. As my R&D colleagues will attest to their extreme annoyance!

I realise that you recorded this show a while ago. However, what it brings out so clearly to me is just how relatively useless these insolated demos are. Now that you are using backing tracks we can hear so much more accurately how these bits of gear really work in a musical setting. BTW, I must say that I hesitate to watch the P&M’s and new gear reviews. I have enough damn’ pedals already, thank you. Like you and most of us here I’m already quite readily susceptible to GAS which I try mightily to overcome (with mixed results) and I don’t need a pair of charming Pushers to tweak my habit. 😊 Cheers mates.
