How much was that Aberlour going for? Bottled my own ( a few but drank all but one) back in 2009 back when you could bottle your own after the tasting. They had a bourbon cask and a sherry cask. Guy who did the tasting was a lovely fellow.

Liquor is a "luxury" item. If you don't want to buy just pass on by. Plus there are lower cost options. In this case the sale will all go to charity so stop complaining.

@scrimmy45 Have you ever managed to get a decent bottle at near retail price from an auction? I've got plenty of money but won't buy anything if I think I'm getting ripped off, and the reality is people do buy bottles to make money at auctions, if there were no auctions reselling bottles would be harder, just my opinion, and I'm sure you have yours.
