There was a lot of hood out past the windshield. And a huge inline 6 under it. It was a smooth running car as I remember.❤

I think the car in a Chrimas Story was an Oldsmobile F37 sedan, powered by a straight 6 cyl. Also the radio takes a little bit time to warm up. As for the wing windows they provided air movement to keep riders cool.

Look into the Chevy 250 inline 6. It'd probably fit better, and the engine sounds amazing.
