Only one who know whats Asura, saw an other review of this watch and that person had no clue of the name. Its beaitiful dial and so versatile. Always like your detailed reviews.

Yeah, some channels just rush their videos out too fast. So it's more like first impressions, or an unboxing.

@@RelativeTime Agreed - Thank you for a great video, i have also liked the darker dial, albeit its little too expensive, i still like their gold filled dial and the steel they use.

A big fan of Wise, my next Wise purchase might be this specific model. Yet, Adamascus AD7 is a very strong competitor with its more affordable price.
@RelativeTime15 күн бұрын
Good point. Ad7 is their aqua terra like watch. Less unique, but probably be more versatile than this one.

Interesting. Those hands, lugs are very cool. Too red and too $$. Caseback and movement 👍 Did I mention it's too red?

Not everyone likes a red watch. I didn't think I would until I got that one red Orient Kamasu on my wrist. Now I love them.
@monologic480615 күн бұрын
@RelativeTime The Red Star dress watch is more of a burgundy IMO and it looks great. That Bulova Jet Star with the maroon dial is on my list. I like the darker shades and not too shiny. 👍

So many people pumping this brand but I just don’t get it. I feel the same way about Zelos. I know it’s personal preference but I don’t find their offerings attractive. Glad they’re trying original designs but their prices are too high for what it is.
@kickstothehead370516 күн бұрын
Huh all the designs beeen original I mean you can make a case for the divers but you could for every diver. I got my diver for 550 miyota 9000 series 904 l sapphire sandwich 2 straps nice box quality control blasting seiko or Tudor I don’t know many you have an affinity for Swiss watches…..
@RelativeTime15 күн бұрын
Design is always subjective, but in some ways, Wise is kind of like CW was a few years ago. Where they have some of the best watches under 1k. At least in terms of the quality of what you are getting. This one with its dial may not be the best example of that, but check out the finishing and macros of their AD8 divers and their last GMT. Plus their use of 904L makes them a unique and interesting part of the watch world. Not to mention consistent use of killer lume. Zelos is a little bit of a different story. They used to be primarily a value brand (in some ways still are). Yet as more micro and aliX competition has popped up in that area, Elshan started shifting his designs to be more unique. This makes them more interesting to make videos on, but it's also lost some of the original old-school Zelos fans. Guys who just want a cool affordable tool watch, but don't care about adventurine or whatever other random dials they have.
@dparis217216 күн бұрын
Why is ASURA so prominent on the dial? It’s awful. A clumsy decision that takes everything away from an otherwise classy, unique dial.
@Spruce-Bug12 күн бұрын
Is there a field watch similar to this that doesn't cost $500? I love this configuration, small second dial.
@RelativeTime12 күн бұрын
Like with this type of dial? Or with The sub second hand?
@Spruce-Bug11 күн бұрын
@RelativeTime Im unsure of the proper terminology but theres thr hour hand, the minute hand in the center, then a smaller dial just underneath. Very nice.
@RelativeTime11 күн бұрын
@@Spruce-Bug Yeah that would be a sub-second-hand configuration. There are actually a lot of field watches like that. Many are inspired by a set of world war ii watches. Usually, they are referred to as a Dirty Dozen Watch (longer story). Here are a couple I know of: www.vaerwatches.com/products/a12-dirty-dozen-swiss-automatic-40mm vario.sg/collections/1945-d12-field

For some brands it's easier that way. Especially if they are overseas. Don't have to pay for shipping both ways. Keep track of who has what, or figure out what to do with a used watch afterwards.

The fact that you showed CW before speaking of price, at the price point they're asking, we already know it's not close to competitive. That $1k range is where most watches go to die when not up to the task. They should have kept it at the $600-700 range, even with Sellita. But they are iterating, and that's a good thing.
@RelativeTime15 күн бұрын
Well CW always has consistent great macros. Always crisp and clean. Wise usually does a good job, the dials on the AD8 and their ADX GMT are almost CW-worthy. With this one they were more focused on texture I guess.
@brianmccord738716 күн бұрын
I don’t think any watch with a non dive or tachymetre bezel should exceed 38mm. It’s just all dial and it looks oversized. I don’t think it competes with CW in that price bracket either.

I own two Wise models, fantastic brand! This one though? Not for me. The large block font all caps model script is abysmal. Many of the elements are attractive, but the whole, in this case, is worse than the sum of the parts. Oh well.
