Hello ladies, I have a degree in chemistry. As far as coconut it’s is a protein in its self. So coconut is not good for 4c low porosity hair. Along with aloe the molecules are to big to penetrate the hair shaft and sits on top making it hard for any product to get inside.

My hair doesn’t really seem to have an issue with aloe from what I’ve noticed, but I’m with you on the coconut oil. Thanks for your input!

I needed to watch this. They dont list their ingredients on the website or on IG and I cannot use anything with coconut. My hair sheds more and feels super dry. So, thank you. You've saved me time and money.

Yes coconut Is a protein in itself which does not work good on low porosity 4c hair. Understanding your hair type and porosity type is so important. Just like when coconut oil is cold it is solid that is the same thing that happened on top of the hair shaft which in the blocking the cuticle from taking in any kind of moisture from anywhere else you must clarify your hair after using coconut oil or aloe.

Maybe the product has silicones in it. If I use products containing silicones It does coat the hair stands and block anything else from penetrating.
