This is extremely informative, a great refresher for touching up on some of the basic futbol related speed drills and core exercises. I really enjoy watching these Unisport and the Tanner Speed Academy collaborative videos.

I have to admit that deadlifts, box jumps and uni-lateral leg exercices gave me great results. Of course in different variations. To be really quick like Bruce Lee we have to work on nervous system as well and always be full of all nutrients like potassium, sodium, etc. Remember that every minute of life is a good opportunity to train senses, reaction, body control and so on. Always with passion to own potential. Kind Regards sport people! :)

do reverse lunges, squats, and farmer carries also help? Since it is currently what I have been doing for the past 2 months. When I played basketball or football before... my legs tend to get tired easily, now they don't. But I'm not sure if I'm becoming faster...
@tomaszbilski58202 жыл бұрын
@@karlivanr stronger legs (if you progress using weights) mean more potential to be explosive, yes. in general it can help you but you have to remember that your workout must be focused on YOURS weak points IN SPECIFIC TIME PERDIOD. But again in general it sounds good. From my perspective I would say: try to implement different viariations weekly. Sometimes heavy weights, sometimes very explosive movements. TO BE EXTREMELY fast you cannot ignore details. Healthy joints, tendonds, etc (full range of movement). Activation of muscles and whole kinetic chains require fresh and nervous system with full fuel. B-group Vitamins, minerals, herbs like gotu-kola, bacopa, ginko biloba. Long topic. Apart of all details strengh exercises are important but also exercises when you activate your body as quick as you can. For example sprints in oposite direction from laying position. Sorry for my english. It's good when I am fresh :D
@tomaszbilski58202 жыл бұрын
PS: I used to do box jumps with weights. But progression can be modulated differently. Reverse lunges are great for 200%
@RefereeChannel Жыл бұрын
@@karlivanr It helps if you also do sprint training. If you only go to the gym it might slow you down if you don't do sprint training on separate days.

I used to put 4 phone books/clothes catalogues (remember them?) In a backpack and wear backpack as part of my warm up. Take it off obviously before match starts and the sudden loss of the weight meant turbo mode for the 1st 10 mins.

First time o disagree with coach Carson. Muscles do not slow you down or make you slower, itbis the opposite! More muscles make you more explosive, you can accelerate faster. Think of players like Cristiano Ronaldo and also young Hulk, Shaquiri, Adama Traore, many others. They were the fastest on the pitch, strongest, jumped higher, better athletes than the others in their clubs
@raisingbarssince19782 жыл бұрын
Nope he is right, the bigger your muscles are the more oxygen they need. That is why a bodybuilder will never be as fast as a footballer. Ronaldo is athletic and muscular. If you don't believe him, there are more than enough studies that prove his point.
@JonathanRodriguez-nz9nw2 жыл бұрын
@@raisingbarssince1978 then explain Cristiano and Traoré please. Even Cristiano at 37 is faster than the vast majority of his early 20s squadmates. Yes, more oxygen consumotion, but that does not matter. More force production, increased agility, muscular endurance.... the benefits are well worth having to better your v02 max
@raisingbarssince19782 жыл бұрын
@@JonathanRodriguez-nz9nw Michael Jordan at almost 40 played better than most players in the NBA, that does not mean that sports science isn't right.
@JonathanRodriguez-nz9nw Жыл бұрын
@@raisingbarssince1978 not saying sports science is wrong at all. It is a misconception that big muscles make you slow, if you train right, all that power and explosiveness make you a lightning bolt. Speaking of, Usain Bolt is also incredibly muscular, and during his competition days was even more so. I am not saying one has to look like Arnold Schwarzenegger, but if you train right, you will be the fastest, and most athletic on the pitch
