I still think the advantage of a Basilisk slow down some units is really beneficial.

I retired my Manticore when it went up to 190 points, actually printed a Hydra-turret that I could put on to convert it. It worked decent for its points I guess but I missed the Manticore. I totally agree with it being our best damage dealing artillery to blast targets and if anything scary comes into our deployment zone it can shoot that thing directly with lethals(assuming it's a big thing), heavy bolter and hunter killer. In direct fire the missile are like a slightly crappier oppressor cannon, but if we stood still at least it hits on 3+ without orders. Also, my favourite target with it have always been squads of bikes where the blast and rerolls kick in and the damage 3 evaporates them. But then again, I think that maybe just that is over of the reasons artillery is nerfed now..

My head always cocks when you say flat damage 3 is rare in the Guard: - Leman Russ Battle Cannon - Leman Russ Executioner Cannon - Rogal Dork Oppressor cannon - Pulveriser Cannon - Twin Battle Cannon - Baneblade - Banehammer Tremor Cannon - Banesword (4) - Plasma Baneblade (3/4) - Manticore - Medusa Carriage Any and all units with autocannons: - Infantry Squad - Heavy Weapons Team - Platoon Command Squad - Leman Russ Exterminator - Hydra - Taurox - Taurox Prime - Scout Sentinel - Armoured Sentinel - Try again Bragg XD - Rogal again Lol - KASRKIN Hot shot marksman Rifle! - Larkin's Long Las (4) Like... its not bad, its just that we are definitely not lacking in flat damage 3 options, from 60pts to 480

You only get lethals if you see the target unfortunately

Maybe Regimental attache is more useful if you fire indirect fire under new changes because your going to be rerolling those 1-3s, for the 4-6s and more likely to trigger the 6's vs hitting on maybe the old 2's and not bothering to reroll those.

I haven't used them much but I got my hands on two before the points increase and subsiquent points decrease. They pack a real punch, especially when shooting at heavy infantry, but I was disspointed at their inconsistency. I rolled a lot of ones for the attack roll (including on command point rerolls!) I think massed mortars and FOB's are just going to be more consistent on the whole because of how many more attacks you are guarenteed to be making, but I love the manticore all the same.
