My uncle had one transplanted in the 80-90s and lived for years with pig heart..from what I heard I guess that's what happens when your poor an can't afford a heart transplant or had no other option of matching blood for a heart at the time

That was done when I was young in the 60's or 70's! It isn't a first. I seem to remember it was done here in the UK on the NHS, although they only managed to keep the patient alive a few weeks. However, as the domestic pig is apparently only one gene away from human it shouldn't be surprising it could be done. It does show that apes aren't our closest relatives though
