@@SorokingProd30 yeah and the Olympics is this summer. Baseball is an Olympic sport. It will have all of the same teams, and players. It will literally be the same tournament. It’s the exact same thing with soccer and hockey. There’s a world tournament every two years. World Cup, then Olympics, then World Cup, then Olympics.

Huge congratulations to the Japanese team. They have been the best team all along the tournament. And they have some serious superstars too. USA should keep their heads up - amazing run, they recovered very well from that defeat to Mexico, and only lost the championship to the very best. This finals game was a joy to watch. The WBC is a huge success and a dream come true for us the fans. My biggest hope is that one day, all Cuban players can play for my country, without politics, dictatorship and black lists. Viva Cuba Libre.

What a game! My heart was pounding like crazy every inning. Best WBC ever! We wanted to take the win home but they just played better enough to beat us. Well deserved win by Japan, congrats!

They took out North America in 2 very high tense games! Ohtani was definitely the difference maker.

@@Jaime16921 As an American, I wish we'd have won, but Japan was the better team. The thing is we threw our best at the world (which you couldn't have said b4 every time) and so did all the other countries. It all made for some scintillating sport, so I can't be too disappointed.

Queda demostrado que las suerestrellas japonesas tienen mayor compromiso con su país que las de USA. Yo no vi a ningún pitcher americano de los verdaderos tops en el equipo. Excepto Adam Ottavino y Ryan Pressley, los otros pitchers no eran los tops de USA. Gerrit Cole, Dylan Cease, Zack Wheeler, Max Scherzer, Jacob de Grom, Shane Bieber, Max Fried, Justin Verlander. Mira qué cantidad de talento se quedó fuera, porque no quisieron ir. Sin embargo, al team Japón fueron todos los jugadores de élite, absolutamente todos. No puedes soltar que la liga japonesa es la mejor y quedarte así tranquilo, porque no es cierto. De hecho, los mejores jugadores japoneses juegan en la MLB. La MLB tiene el mejor talento del mundo.

@@alxm1271 los jugadores japoneses juegan en Estados Unidos porque las grandes ligas se juega en USA ya que es un deporte creado y formado por los americanos. A parte de eso. En Estados Unidos es donde pagan más dinero. Han hecho 5 clásicos mundiales de los 5 3 veces a ganado Japón 1 vez Rep-Dom y 1 vez Estados Unidos. Hay que ser un poco ignorante decir que la liga japonesa no es la mejor. Grandes ligas es donde juegan los mejores del mundo pero son 30 equipos. En un clásico mundial no van los 30 equipos sino una selección nacional

I enjoyed the heck out of the entire tournament. I was even getting up at 5:00AM in the pool stage to watch the games over in Japan and Taiwan.

One of the best sports tournaments ever! It’s going to be hard to sit through an entire MLB season now and listen to the drama, politics and contract talks. We just witnessed a tournament that was for the love of the game. There were sold out stadiums, with the exception of Phoenix, filled with rabid fans. I can’t wait to see the lineups for the next WBC. I also hope they manage to find a way to stream these games on KZbin. Having this sort of tournament locked behind a paywall here in the states defeats the purpose of getting Baseball the exposure it desperately needs, especially to the younger audience.

Now this truly fits the title Baseball Classic, because this WBC will go down as one of the best times to watch baseball in history, I mean that final three games were just so perfect despite my team USA coming up short in the final, because team Japan was so fun to watch I got over it quickly. But Japan vs Mexico and USA vs Venezuela were also AMAZING games, as were most of the other games.

It is ironic that finishing second, actually helped USA to reach the finals. Semis vs my good, but much weaker Cuban team was a blessing to US. I don't think US would have won a semis vs Japan.

The USA does not know how to play fundamental baseball anymore. .... The USA lost the game because they do not know how to bunt! Throughout the tournament they showed zero ability to bunt, and it hurt them in the last inning against Japan. Mookie Betts did not know how to bunt and ended up hitting into a double play. This is very important, and the American media is silent about it.
