Imagine if Antares leads a galactic alliance against UTP but are still having trouble, then the extradimensional invasion begins. But instead of the Unbidden its the GTU coming in. The took one look at UTP and was like oh hell no and decided to aid AC. After the war they came to a mutual understanding and GTU decided to retreat back to their space as logistical issues were too severe to maintain a lasting presence.

In the beginning I was so confused, I thought “is this taking place in another universe or something, talking about kingdoms, kings and queens” the evacuation of all the rich people instead of colonists going to another star system. The way the narrator describes them made them seem like good guys but the music was telling me something else, the more he talked the less well intentioned they seemed. Then it finally clicked that it was the same and that I wasn’t going nuts but I was being told a falsified history of humanity’s progress.

Well, that fits quite well seeing as their society is structured around a devious lie. I think it was a good choice for Antares to face off against them. Eternal Krevantum and the Holy Solar Empire could work too but the UTP is a more unorthodox choice in my opinion. Humanity was not invaded or replaced or destroyed by itself, no instead they are, technically, prosperous and a powerful force in the galaxy. They also are opposites to the Confederacy as they are a highly integrated and Unified force that is also a Dictatorship which, from what I can infer from reading between the lines, enslaves aliens. While the Confederacy is a divided, democratic and xenophilic society that believes in equal rights for all instead of having to ‘earn’ citizenship. Also the UTP’s flag is awesome.

Okay Time to rewrite this time line so presumably the collaborators knew enough about the early settlements in the solar system and the Air heart flotilla meaning we can place their discovery of the human race to say past the 2100s nearly 50 years before the air heart was launched but still when there was colonies in the solar system Then we can presume that because no records of the collaborators was on the flotilla that they arrived after 2159 or could have directly caused the air heart flotilla to go astray in the hyperspace jump So we can assume that A) the collaborators knew about the colonies before their abandonment or directly destroyed them B) didn’t launch their invasion until after the flotilla left C)they would have invaded in-between 2159 and the standard starting date for a game of Stellaris We then know by the majority of this propaganda film that: - they rewrote history to cover up their war - they have ‘advisors’ and a definitely not Wallace Breen guy who relays all their comands -they have a way of controlling people probably through propaganda mixed with drugs and maybe a hint of brain chipping Anyway here it is: 2100-2158 collaborators find earth 2159 the airheart is blown off course 2160-2200 collaborators invade and rewrote history

Most likely... Collaborators came to Earth when they're doing just fine (as they can build wormhole gate and sent 6 million colonists), invaded, destroy any resistance and rebuild while portraits themselves as Saviors of Mankind for centuries. Unknown system, Antares Installation-71 02:00 Station time In a small room there is a table and two chairs. On it sit two humans , but different in their own subtle ways. One is in a military uniform , there are possible remains of scars that healed and that were recieved in combat . The man holds a device in his hands , but the looks of it its capable of recording sound. The other one is also in uniform but it cannot serve a combat purpose. However it appears unsettling when looked at. The first man stars the recording: "This is Major Nathan Aubert , Antares Intelligence , i have begun this recording to document the questoning of Commandant Alexander Barnes , Terran State Security. He has agreed to answer our questions on current state of affairs on Earth. I shall begin the questoning and answers are expected in a yes/no response" The major begins "Are you commandant Alexander Barnes?" The man answers calmly "Yes" "Do you work for Terran State Security?" "Yes" "Have you been forced into this job" "No" The major pauses for a second "....Has your organisation been formed by the order of the Collaborators" The commandant smiles "No" The major was confused for a second and when he was to ask him the next question the commandant interupted him "Did you really think that the collaborators keep humanity in check , or that all those files you picked up on our political prisoners were solely the enemies of the Collaborators" The major comes to his senses and realises why hasnt there been an uprising on Earth , why humans natural nationalistic tendencies have overtaken them. He asks a simple question "Why?" The commandant answers him "Because if you collaborated with someone at the very beginning , why stop now" The major shows him a dataslate with a recording. Its a very old recording of a battle between humans outside of Warsaw . The winning side had advanced weaponry and the Protectorate flag . The losing side had regular weaponry ......... and a United Nations flag. The commandant answers him with a devious expression "You see , you arent so unaware after all" The major stands up and answers him with a mix of disbelief , sorrow and hate , perhaps hoping to himself that the recording was fake "That will be all ..... for now" I leave further speculation to the viewers of this comment.

I know I'm late, but I really like how this kind of made four of the possible factions able to "co-exist" in a sense. - The UFN trues to expand among the stars, the Earhart flotilla being one of these attempts. - UFN collapses, plunging earth into war and giving rise to fiefdoms that would become the Solar Empire. - Solar Empire is reorganized after first contact with the Collaborators, giving way to the UTP.

This video shows how insidious the thinking of the Collaborators are. Why wipe out a civilization when they can make it their personal attack dog where every single person in it is all too ready to pick up a gun and gun someone down because they are against the "Galactic Peace" that the Collaborators "offer to the barbaric and savage nations of the stars to bring stability and peace". The "United Terran Protectorates" reminds me to the "Terrene Protectorate", a Xenophilic Organism whose purpose is to unite all the civilizations of the galaxy in the name of peace and cooperation. The story is really different tho, as the TP emerged as a direct result of Humanity finding unlimited resources in space, which meant there was no reason to fight ever again. But this is really different if you take into consideration that the only populated planet is Earth, with the biggest off-earth planetary human population being amongst 20 people in the entire galaxy. The Terrene Protectorate is from a Terraria-style game called Starbound.
