David Beckham is THE reason I support United. He's the reason I wore #7 in every sport. He's the reason my kids support United. Underappreciated doesn't even begin to explain it, honestly. He's a mix of De Bruyne on the field and Cristiano off it. How he stays so seemingly level headed is almost as impressive as his right foot.

@@alexman8800 So, if we found an example of a fan who was introduced during that era, and was still a fan today.... as miserable as the rest that the Glazers found a new brother in Sir Jim Glazer.... would he be a "real fan"? Which is sort of ironic for me.... I am a Manchester United fan because I am a New York Yankees fan who can not speak Italian. For me it was Lou Gehrig and Murderers Row. Mickey Mantle trying to outplay the shadow of DiMaggio. Donnie Baseball!!!! what a career stuck with mediocre teammates! AND JUUUUUST missing Jeter and company at the end of his career. FMAIR? The Sandman..... Mariano Rivera.... far and away the most skilled specialist in the history of Sport itself.... Masterful. BUT! I wanted to get into Football, because Football became to predictable to me. When you know ALL the players in a league, and where they went to school, and how well they did in college, their combine scores..... i mean.... it just wasn't fun anymore. So my friend suggests I "put down the football, and start kicking the football"..... "You're a Yanks fan, so that means you are a Juventus fan. Same shirt bigger stripes." But? But I dont speak Italian.... and even though I can find a few games, I dont understand what is being said about a game I didn't understand. "Fine, you are a Manchester United fan. Read about Munich AND THEN watch." And that is how I became a Red Devil.... Juventus just didn't have anything for me to read about where I am. And now? Now all I dream about it Raymond James Stadium empty.... with NFL game after NFL game cancelled because United fans are finally getting serious about getting rid of the vampires, and their new brother. It would only take getting 2 games strategically cancelled in the same season to RUIN the entire leagues schedule. That is when Goodell steps in to force the sale of The Bucs (which they wont, because the Glazers actually care about Tampa, the city)... which means the Glazers will be forced to sell United. Goodell alone has to power to force the sale so long as the other NFL owners vote that "the Glazers are hurting the league" You - "Bandwagon" Are you okay???? OP - "He's the reason my kids support United."....... do you seriously think a bandwagon fan would subject their children to this misery? this ineptitude? these soul sucking vampires, the Glazers? the crumbling form of the Theatre of Dreams if he was just a bandwagon fan? You might not think this.... but people who have kids now.... were just as likely to be kids in the 90's.... a generational Red Devil as a bandwagoner? GO TO BED!

I genuinely think Beckham's greatest achievement was being able to balance both his celebrity and football. How many players waste their potential and careers because they enjoy the highlife. David Beckham was one of the best footballers I've ever witnessed, his passing/crossing/dead ball ability was unmatched. Beckham is an absolute perfectionist his clothes, his looks and the way the ball left his foot, it just moved different in the air to anything i've ever seen before, it's like the ball knew he'd kicked it and took flight with majestic grace and rotation. It would hang in the air what felt like forever floating in slow motion before landing with pin point accuracy on the end of a forwards boot or caressing the inside back of the net completeing the picture of what he saw in his mind, he was incredible and very much missed by us United fans.

So many players from that team were underrated, even denigrated. David Beckham, Gary Neville and Nicky Butt were three incredibly dependable players without whom Man Utd would never have become the club that they did. Sir Alex had a knack of rooting out young talent and blending it with a handful of senior players. The fact that Jonny Evans is one of the standout players at United today, still turning in good performances in a team devoid of ideas and confidence, shows just what was lost with the failure to rebuild in the wake of so many winners and leaders leaving the club.

This coming from a United fan. But I'm sorry. Just because Ryan Giggs is the most decorated PL player, doesn't imply he was the best in PL. There have been better PL players than Giggs. United ones as well as ones from other clubs. And keeping aside his personal life, Ryan Giggs is not even in the top 5 best United players. Top 10 maybe, but never top 5. Charlton, Best, Rooney, Cantona, Law are all above Giggs. Stop glorifying him just because he's done it all and won it all. And lastly, yes. The sooner we forget him, the better.

@@Nadstergram First of all, I don't think you understand the big difference between First Division and Premier League. Just give you a hint, it's not just the names. Maybe better educate yourself first before yapping nonsense. It does not look smart. For the sake of your argument, let's omit Charlton, Best, Law because they never played in PL. The remaining players you mentioned above are only Rooney and Cantona. You already mentioned that Giggs is the most decorated player in United. I'm glad you recognize that because that's a very strong case to claim that he's the best. So, tell me, why in your opinion, Cantona and Rooney were better for United in PL? Cantona gave United 5 seasons and 4 PL titles. Rooney gave United 13 seasons and 5 PL titles. Giggs is the most decorated, the highest appearances, the longest serving, and you said the sooner we forget him, the better? You claim you're a United fan? ROFL. You joined KZbin in 2009 and judging from your profile picture, I bet you forget showering, let alone a player who made United a PL behemoth LOL. I'm not gloating caffeine. But I saw Beckham in real time at Old Trafford four times. I also saw him play for United against Liverpool at Anfield in December 1995. United were not always great. But Beckham had an aura about him. Regardless of how badly his own team played, or how good the opposition were, he had his own standards. By this I mean his work rate and ability to control the ball and his refusal to be intimidated by any opponent. Frankly these standards never dipped. In 2007, while at Real Madrid, after being refused a contract extension David signed a contract with LA Galaxy. He was to join this American club on a Bosman deal at the end of that season. Fabio Capello, the then Real manager, declared rather pompously that while he wished David future success he would not pick him for the remainder of the season. If memory serves this was with around ten La Liga matches still to be played. But the uber professional Beckham continued to train on his own with a zeal that even the fusty old Italian could appreciate. Capello swallowed his pride and began to pick David once more. As a result Real Madrid won the Spanish title in 2007. In my not so humble opinion this was Beckham's finest hour. His dedication to his craft and trade in the face of disdain and indifference are a shining example to anyone in any walk of life of what true grit can achieve!

Very good video indeed mate, and your voice made me feel like I was watching a guy Ritchie movie or something haha. Very good.

Brilliant piece! You work is great and appreciate what you do. It's balanced and sell thought. I watch many other channels and also like what they do but this kinda of reflection is above and beyond. Cheers!

David Beckham is my all time fav player of all time, wore my hair the same & practiced my free kicks to emulate him & to cross the ball and my daughter was born on the same day as him, 2nd may

You could put a marker in my local village or Nigeria and Beckham would've hit the exact spot with a football. Everybody was trying to take free kicks like him. Still sad that he left for Madrid 😢

I wish we had someone like him come from the academy to carry on the legacy of our academy and become a worldclass player and bring a new era in our club.

Beckham was, without a doubt, world-class and the most underrated player of his generation . Fantastic video, mate 👍🏻

David Beckham without doubt was a world class player. Ryan Giggs seemed once to be destined for greatness. But IMHO he was a very good player rather than a great one. For many seasons, perhaps as many as ten, Giggs was content to be a bit part player on the biggest football stages. Beckham would never have been content with such a peripheral role. This alone puts Beckham in the pantheon of the greatest players of all time. I have been a United fan for forty years. Frankly I resent the denial of iconic status that Beckham has among many United fans. Please keep making and uploading these wonderful and statistically revealing videos!

you could have talked so much more about his time at Madrid, being shunned from the team after signing his mls contract but working his way back onto the first team anyway and leading la Liga in assists as Madrid won the title; or playing in MLS and being able to walk onto the Milan side and play in the champions league as a contributor, or being able to go to PSG in the twilight of his career as they were starting their era of dominance and be a weekly starter for them. There is a very short list of players in history that could do that in the history of world football.

I am Irish and I think Beckham is world class and a true gentleman. I am not biased and have some evil motives like an "English fan" might. I see from the outside and What I see is a man who made adversity into an advantage. He is conventional in his style of play but thats what made him great, a God given Talent to whip in a cross or free kick with such precision. Beckham wasn't flashy but he was so effective. You don't have to be "flashy" to be world class, since when is tricks and skills only reason you are world class, look at CR7 now- With that logic Rooney, Andy Cole or Yorke are not world class. Beckham was a great footballer, an icon and he's an even better man. He may be rich as hell and has now become a little isolated from the average Joe but he's still an inspiration. Give Becks the respect he deserves, He was CR7 before CR7 i.e., An Icon. I tell you who isn't World class, a dinosaur like Graeme Souness who spent his entire football career, kicking people's shins and ending careers. Clowns will continue to Clown but Beckham always has the last laugh, icon always will be relevant. Souness has hot takes to stay relevant like a clown.

I'm not even a ManU fan, (Spurs for my sins), but Becks was a brilliant player and because he's good looking, and prepared for a career after playing, sour bastards like Souness say he was rubbish. There was no one like Becks.

For me, Beckham is the greatest ever crosser of the ball..also in the top 10 free kick takers of all time..but for me he doesn't get anywhere near best 200 players of all time..his work rate was very good but couldn't really tackle..meaning much of his tracking back was pointless.

Sourness is a bitter old coffin dodger who's always had a chip on his shoulder with United players. What he talks about is utter nonsense and no one really listens to him (well maybe Liverpool fans but they are a law unto themselves) Becks was what you wanted and needed in a team! He would change a game with a cross or goal or assist he had that way about him. I regard him as a legend a great footballer
