Amorim's identity is really starting to come through, even if the intensity still needs a lot of work. The foundations are there, we're building them and lets talk through the momentum that win can give us.

It's been a long time since we controlled a game against City like that. Amad proving why we pushed so much for him to get more minutes. Great performance from the defense including Ugarte. Also, why is nobody acknowledging Mazraoui putting Doku in his pocket?
Mazraoui put Doku in his pocket; Maguire put Haaland in his pocket; Ugarte somehow brilliantly put both De Bruyne and Foden in his pocket. Defence wise we cooked!

Very well said. Since a long long time I don’t see us overrun and lose or overrun in parts but still win. We are compact even when we lose. The players are getting the blame from all around but Amorim is showing in 5/6 games that if you coach them right , they will produce even with a system alien to them. What this has shown us that even after working hard if u r getting overrun then they lose confidence in themselves and the effort required during games goes drastically down, even though the coach is failing miserably in the tactics
@nickraoyjКүн бұрын
My takeaways from the game: 1. Mount looks set for an early retirement from professional football at this rate, his body keeps breaking down. The poor guy needs to prioritize his health in the long run. 2. Ugarte made such a difference in CM, he is unfazed by the opposition press, the composure is remarkable. 3. Oddly, there seems to be a positive chemistry between Antony and Amad on the right flank. If Amad plays as the RAM, then perhaps it's worth exploring playing Antony as RWB for a full game to see how they combine. 4. I think the majority of the starting XI in the City game will be here to stay next season, except Dalot. He is simply a traditional RB, he doesn't know how to attack. 5. Gotta shoutout Zirkzee in the final 20 seconds of play to run it towards the corner, that is the kind of game management I wanted to see from the young attackers in the Plzen game midweek when there was no need to risk a counter-attack. 6. Maguire might have a new redemption arc under Amorim similar to the one Coates had at Sporting as a senior CB, he is comfortable in a back 3 and has a great range of passing that not many in the team have.
@ste4392Күн бұрын

Spot on. Dalot is good, but he's just not playing his natural position, he cannot cross from that side, nor get past a player on a regular basis. On the right, I feel like he would be better. He's also a possible option for RCB. Good rotation/bench player, that Amorim clearly likes. He's just not good enough to be a starter in that LWB position, which is why we need a new signing there asap.
@DanteCastillo-d5xКүн бұрын
Dalot is a quality player to have in the squad always fit and giving 100% . I think he will be just fine there to learn adapt and continue to find patterns of play in my opinion. I still believe they should push for a LWB but I would keep Dalot .

respect to you for backtracking from your initial assessment yesterday. I can't remember the last time we pretty much shared possession with Pep's City team. Apart from the set piece goal (something which I'm sure can be fixed in future) we were solid at the back and De Ligt is looking better and better. Kudos also (and I can't believe I'm saying this) to Harry who looks far more comfortable in a back 3 than he ever did in a back 4 - he had Haaland in his pocket. Ugarte and Kobbie worked well and everyone upfront worked hard. Great team performance.
@Viva15thBrigadaКүн бұрын
Remember Harry Maguire wasn’t made captain for no reason. I still believe he is a great player but needs support in the defence and he will grow into this team.

Let me show you what legacy media will never tell you: Clean sheet: 6 clean sheets behind Liverpool (7). Onana topped the chart Saves: 41 saves behind City (38) Arsenal & Villa (40) Goals conceded: 19 behind Liverpool (13) Arsenal (15). 42% of it from Set piece. As you mentioned, this can be fixed in future. Our defense has been rock solid and they're getting more comfortable with the ball. I can see our back line is starting to gel despite heavy rotation. It's true that significant improvement is much needed for our attacking line because we're still way behind in terms of shot registered and chance created, not to mention the goal conversion rate which was abysmal. But as Fergie once said defense wins you titles while attack wins you games, I'll take this progress every day of the week.

Videos levelling up again! Bravo. Amad and Ugarte were elite yesterday. The two wide diamonds work well, as do the back 3, which suits Maguire to a tee. It forces teams wide and crowds out midfield. Has anyone seen Haaland? Is he still in Maguire's pocket? If they find some more bravery with the vertical passes and this team will progress in terms of results and belief even more.
@DannyCheanКүн бұрын
Maguire was massive in that three at the back system. He was like the monster how neutralize everthing before it becomes an issue for the keeper. His physically, his concentration, his ability to make long passes, his aerial power. All top notch when he does not have to deal with speedy wingers or rush to defend.

Anyone with any logic & common sense can see that we're playing with a identity. Sure there's alot that needs to improve but we're getting there. Not many teams keep City quiet & control the game we did both that is clear progress. What i love is that Amorim is sticking to his principles despite team sheets getting leaked plus he's got balls to drop underperforming players. We're going in the right direction under Amorim. Players like Amad that does what's asked of him no moaning no shitty attitude just knuckles down works hard you'll reap the rewards something that certain players need to understand or they won't play as Amorim proved

Great win yesterday. Amorim is finally getting the best out of this United squad. I have been pissed off how people have been saying for ages that this squad is crap and that half the team needs to go. Lindelof, Eriksen, Casemiro and Rashford need to go. Shaw and Mount should stay because we will get nothing of value for them and when they are healthy they are good. United lack the depth in the centre of the park to really push teams over the course of a full season. and they really need to shore up the depth on Left wing back. They need a LWB - Alvaro Fernandez - £16.7m (£8.7m really) Can play LWB and LCB if needed. I'd start Mazraoui and have Fernandez rotate with him. They need a Casemiro replacement. Hayden Hackney- £25m In January, Loan him back to Boro for the rest of the season. Not a like for like to Casemiro but top young player. They need a Christian Eriksen replacement - Angel Gomes - Free Transfer in summer. Can play both CM positions and both CAM positions and is ideal back up for Mainoo They need a Marcus Rashford (Playing CAM) Replacement - Xavi Simons - Send Rashford and £30m to PSG and get Simons. They don't want him and he would be amazing at CAM for United.

As a Sporting fan, i was waiting for the moment that Maguire would be fit to play. He is going to be the base of United Football in the sense that now, Amorim can set all the pieces to put the Machine Rolling. This is the base, Dalot, Martinez, Maguire, Delight, Maz. Than the Center, Ugarte (Casemiro) and Bruno (Kobbie). Garnacho, Rasmus and Amad!! With what Amorim has at the moment, this is the squad that will better execute his ideas. Next season United has to find better or at least same quality substitutes for the midfield and the wingers, the strikers we will have to wait and see how they perform until the end of the season. Ugarte and Bruno are untouchable in the positions but they lack good quality substitutes, the seasons are long and they are not enough. Shame they let McTominay go... As soon as Amorim has a starting 11 fixed, you will start to see how this players will progress.... Good Luck for the season!! PS- With Amorim, if you don't run and work hard, it doesn't matter what your name is, you don't play!!

A refined Mainoo next to Ugarte( he is young and still needs time but I believe he will be a beast once he hit his prime) 3. Onana needs someone to compete with( I think he is the guy but I believe we can get more out of him if he knows he has to compete for the spot) 4. Then, we can look forward to our tough games against Loserpool and FArsenal.

Man city in Korea, any clear cut opportunities they were shooting from 25 yards out. They are known as the best possession team in the world and we equal it, Rasma should’ve had a penalty and ad were put through constantly but caught off side. That is his timing problem, Bruno missed a one on one. I think it was a pretty dominant performance. What did Manchester city do to make you worried? Because apart from Phil Ford, and shooting from Destin, which made me Witcher we controlled it. Pep Guardiola had a meltdown saying he doesn’t know what to do. He’s not good enough.😊😊😊
