Yeah, they are a sight to behold! Hammerhead Performance Engines offers CNC ported versions of this head that will go 435cfm, In MAX effort that can be stretched to over 500cfm from the same casting... As cast they flow 395cfm You can see me unbox the heads and flowtest them in my Project MIXED UP BOSS playlist! Thanks for watching Andy

Pick the one you want and get Wilson to port it...or get David to do it. Or you could go sheetmetal with all the bells and whistles properly calculated for runner style and length. Ya gone this far, go all the way👍

Not for this build... I'm also after the period correct look of a 71-72 ProStock build... While I agree... A sheetmetal deal would definitely give me what I want powerwise...just not the look Andy

Completely understand Andy. Re cam specs. Guys watching this will have 2 work out there own combinations. Or go 2 a decent shop 2 have an engine built. Or call comp cams. Re Carburetors... would u consider Predators. They flow real decent numbers.

I've always liked the Kendig/Predator carbs but they are hard to find around here.. I have very little experience with them.. I helped a buddy of mine over 20 years ago with his.. it ran awesome though.. Andy

I worked in a shop that built a lot of winston west engines smallblock chevys 360 inch limit and Fords (same size limit ) every engine we put on the dyno had the Yates heads out powering the sb2s usually the fords came in 7 to 12 hp more. These engines were limited to 9.5 comp ratio but were run to 8,800 rpm on the dyno for testing but raced with a 9,000 chip at the track.

@@UnityMotorSportsGarage I have a question for David Vizard I am not sure If you could pass it on to him. If not it is ok. Has anyone built a gas powered v8 that ran in a 2 cycle mode ( camshaft turns at crankshaft speed) ?I know this would require forced induction like a Detroit Diesel has. My imagination tells that there may be Huge power potential if the valve train could be figured out.Doing this would be like doubling the displacement if my logic is sound. Thanks .Will.

4V baby yeahh 💪🏼🏁 Interesting, i have a 4V Clevo tunnel ram, but I’m across the world lol 🤷🏼‍♂️ I have a set of 4V’s that have that water passage drilled & plugged that were once modified/used on a Windsor I’d say. Same thing as you mentioned & drillled/tapped at the front also. Man those Heads look badass 👌🏼🏁, I’d say your Adaptor plates for em can do with a little blend taper between the two, probably promote a little air speed/velocity..... Cool 😎 👍🏼🏁

Now that's some great information on them high rise intakes! I think I'll have to watch it several more times to full comprehend it all but that just how my brain works. I totally understood everything you said but just could not absorb it all it one setting. Now I would like a tunnel ram for when I build another engine for my car but I really not sure what I want to do with it yet. I'll probably go with a single carb to start off because I think it will be best for my application. Hope ya find that intake your lookin' for, I don't know of any around here but I can ask a few folks. Have a nice day and a better one tomorrow!😎

Big Bear it is pretty simple... When it comes to picking the right tunnel ram, You must have the proper size runner (cross sectional area) to supply the airflow needs and the length of the runner must tune in at the rpm range that you are wanting to make that peak power! You get those things right and good things will happen.. Andy

I love those cylinder heads. I’ve never saw that option of capping off the water passages and running a dry intake.

Andy l think l have a number 4 some old guys in the States who rebuild them. Nice guys. Came across them a few yrs back. Did speak 2 them. Found the chap very trustworthy. Always difficult in Oz & over there. Gr8 4 cars ect. Apparently no good in Boats 😢😭 If l find the No l will send u a message. Possibly the equal of 660 centre squirters. U would have a better idea of that than me. Nostalgia is always Cool.

Off the top of my head, I'd go with the intake with the straightest shots onto the valves. But I personally would want to do some EFI shenanigans... I know that's not *your* thing, though.

I would have opened up those heads to match the 4v, but if you can find one, Have a look at a 2V Cleavland tunnel ram , it will have smaller runners than a 4V manifold.

I dont want to open up the heads just yet.. I want to test other Windsor based manifolds, So for now im going to epoxy the runners in the intake.... Andy

Hello Andy, If my memory serves me correct there is a article where a guy named Cole Quinelle (turbo shop) ran a tunnel ram on 4 hundred something inch small block chevy that was his daily driver in highschool I believe it ran 10s . Any way I think he ran 850 baseplates on his 660 center squirters for a little extra air flow .you may need this with the new heads.

XC, it's going to be put in my '71 F100 that I call CASPER, I drag race it.. with the old 393W it ran mid 11's at 4080lbs NA... Not being a Ford guy, but knowing the Cleveland heads came in 2v and 4v versions, how would the 2v ports match up? Is there a 2v port size tunnel ram? Just wondering. It's going to have a nice look to it!

You know John, I only know of one Tunnel Ram that is made for the 2v size ports.. it is down in Australia.. those guys have some cool parts! I feel really good about the 4V version it's just going to take a bit of work.. but I think it will be worth it Andy

To Scott I am not yet familiar with this 445w engine. Does the w denote windsor? and if so is this a stroked version of a 351w . We are trying to figure out a torque engine for a 70 cougar that is easy to build but is smaller externally than a 460 (shock towers are still in place). Thank you.Will.

The new 7.3 isn't a Windsor.. it is a serious piece though... It has a Modular 4.6/5.0 bellhousing... Check out the Reving Evan channel here on KZbin... He has alot of great content regarding this engine... 445 ci of Ford goodness.. it is only slightly bigger than a Windsor... Check it out... Andy

Hi. I'm running a ported out super Victor 351w and just a single QFT 1050cfm 4150 flange carb on my Hammer headed 427w. It's jetted perfect according to my afr gauge. It's 12.5 to 1 compression,712 lift 274@.050 110 LSA Solid roller cam, oh and the heads are ported by Greg himself. Should I look into more induction ??? Like two fours and tunnel ram or a Dominator and bigger intake??? Thanks, Mike.

What is that paint you've used on the inside of the block. Also do you run at Shady Side Dragway. And DragBoss might help you. He is heavily into Clevlands and old Pro Stocks. You could check out his you tube page.(DRAGBOSS) Ronnie.

I use Glyptal red insulating paint for the inside of the block.. I do run up at Shadyside.. it's my home track! Lol.. Tim (DragBoss) has some really cool stuff going on... We hope to work together some here on KZbin in the future.. Thanks for Watching! Andy

You can see in my part 1 of this series... this started out as a FRPP 427 shortblock, with a small enough cam you "could" run these heads and not have any PTV issues.. But I swapped in a set of Diamond pistons with the proper valve reliefs to work with the Solid Roller cam im going to run.. Hope this helps and Thanks for Watching! Andy

I'm looking for a tunnel ram linkage kit for my 5.3 ls do you know of a bolt on kit for this set up everyone says summit but no luck I'm putting this into a 91 obs pickup thanks

You will probably need to look on eBay for a sideways linkage. You will most likely have to make the bottom anchor that bolts to the manifold bolts since I'm not aware of any for a LS but eBay is the place Andy

I posted a comment a few hrs ago about my dream build with these Fabulous Heads from Hammerhead Performance Engines. What l posted was my dream build. A blow'in engie 4 a hot boat. In no way is my thoughts/dream designed 2 undermine what Andy is building 4 himself. He will have one awesome engine. The block l was referring 2 is a BMP man of war billet aluminum block. Check it out if ur interested. Check out the caps. Every single cap is splayed with 4 bolts. U guys over in the states have a fabulous folk who go above what GM FORD ECT release. They r everywhere over there. We have a few in Australia. U r lucky buggers. And our $ against the green back is terrible. In 2010 we were 1.10 -1.12 Aussie $ 2 ur $1. Now its woefull. .73c to usd $1. Any back 2 the block "Jewellery " Andy's going 2 share some more about his engine on sunday nite so 👀👀 4ward 2that. 👌👍

Man of War Block not Billet. Sorry about that. Dart Engineering can build one 2 what ever specs u or ur engine builder comes up with. Isn't Gr8 that Andy is sharing some Carburetor secrets with us. I personally don't know a lot about them so its always gr8 2 learn some more tech.

Jerry that was with my old 393w... It also made 1.41 lbft per cube on pump gas... which is a tough mark to do... The new BOSS motor goal is to make 750hp NA on pump gas.. stay tuned Andy

@@jerrybiscay6987 oh it was cheap... Cast Scat crank 302 Mahle pistons.. stock length I beam rods... Most of the money was in the valvetrain.. but I was still out less than 5k for everything in that build..

Talking cheep hp, ran a stock 91 5.0 with some dart iron heads and way to big of a cam and a 350 shot of nitrous from 1500 rpm car ran 9.50 all day, probably was making 600-650 to the tire. (In the late 90s) thanks for the show and tell love it. KMFNB
