Wondering if the LUNA instruments will work on other DAWs
@kylechumchal2 жыл бұрын
My understanding is that they do now but I do not have any to test

Yes they do work in other DAWs that support AU/VST3/AAX!

Ravel and Moog both working perfectly in Logic. Would be great if they ported over Shape as well.

Once I get access to my la2a and 1176 I’ll let you know

I can confirm that side chain is not an option on any of the LA2A or 1176 compressors in Ableton

Will Luna recognize these plugins

Luna does recognize the plugins and was actually updated to have a new folder just for them.

I'm glad I didn't spend thousands of dollars on the uad hardware and plugins 🤣

I didn't spend too much on UA hardware, I have an Apollo Twin MKII Duo and an Octo Satellite, I get a good deal for both too. The Unison feature on the Apollo is really great too, I love printing the Unison effects as I'm recording. As far as the plugins go, you really don't lose anything from buying the plugins since you get the native version for free. I'm actually really happy I bought some of the UA plugins since now I just own them instead of being tied to a subscription. By having both the DSP versions and the native versions you'll be able to use both simultaneously as well and double your plugin count if you so desire. I'm really happy that there's now native versions of the UA Moog and Ravel, now I can use those instruments in Logic too instead of being confined to just LUNA. Overall I'm happy with the new announcement, not much will change for me since I'll just stick to the native plugins I've already purchased and I don't intend on subscribing to Spark. I'll also keep using my trusty Apollo and Satellite, no changes there either.

I 100% agree. To me this only adds value to the hardware and overall UAD experience. Now I can track in real time and then switch to UADx when mixing. This is what I have been wanting for years! Plus I don’t have to be chained to my audio interface. Not to mention you can only get perpetual licenses if you have hardware otherwise you need a subscription to UAD Spark. I don’t feel cheated at all.

@@kylechumchal are you saying that purchasing plugins without registered hardware is impossible? Licence owners get the native versions aswell afaik
@kylechumchal2 жыл бұрын
Yeah for now you need uad 2 hardware to purchase perpetual licenses. Anyone can purchase the subscription.
